That made me LOL.  But how the heck does she keep getting away with stuff?  I feel like she shits all over everyone and continually stomps through life scot-free, not working, offloading her kids and using people when it suits.

Awwww, are we gonna feel sorry for her, or say what a silly old moo she is, like those silly middle aged women who give everything they have got to a Turkish or Moroccan man who claims to LURRRVE them after 5 minutes together!

BTW, can she MAKE David sign the salon back to her?  I wouldn't have thought so.

Oh no, I didn't say AUDREY was middle aged   I know she is about 70... I just meant, should we feel sorry for her for making a fool of herself by believing a conman, like those middle aged women (who are usually 40 to 50) that you hear about, who give everything to a man they hardly know who is usually half their age, and a foreigner ...

Then again, I am 47, so I think considering 70 as middle age, is OK with me.

I'm lovin' Corrie as always and forever We go straight from murder mystery into the mystery of will Lewis con Audrey again. Personally I hope not, I love his character as a charmer and want to believe he really loves her, I'm sure he does now but it's up to the scriptwriters as to how long it lasts lol. Loving the family feud over the whole scenario. Corrie's the best

^^^ this... all of it.    I think Lewis is genuine.... for now anyway.      sparkles  - I don't think she can make him sign it back, but now they have to weigh up what else they stand to lose if they don't give it back in the meantime.   I loves corrie, I do.

I want Lewis to be genuine and Audrey to have a happy time with him - and blow all her money on herself and Lewis, so there is nothing left for Gail and David to inherit.

I agree wholeheartedly about Gail just assuming that the inheritance should belong to her.  That seems to be a common story when old-ish parents (say 55 and over) have money or property.  I personally know a number of people (under 45) who can't WAIT for their uncle to die (he is 70,) so that they can get first dibs on the will, and every one of about 12 people sucks up to him constantly in a hope of getting a sniff of something in the will.

He has a company that he started in the 70s which is worth a lot of money.  He has one daughter and she had a HOUSE bought for her and her husband when they got married 20 years ago, and each one of her 5 sons has had a BRAND new car for their 18th birthday.  He also paid for each one of them to go to uni.  And that is just the tip of the iceberg... Villa in Spain and one in Sydney, 5 trips abroad every year, a yacht, a bentley: he is rolling in it.  though he has earned it.  I have no idea why all the extended family suck up though (and half of them work for him) because I reckon the LOT will go to his daughter and 5 grandsons anyway.

On that programme 'you can't take it with you,' the adult children on there were absolutely DREADFUL. The programme was about 2 solicitors who helped 'squabbling and feuding' families sort out the issues with the parents will(s)  Upshot was, the adult children wanted to make sure they got their share, and that another sibling who didn't 'deserve' the inheritance as much as them, didn't get as much, and they caused SO much stress for the parents.  Even the solicitors were shaking their heads.  These adult children often didn't deserve ANYthing, and just assumed they would get it as they were the offspring.  JUST LIKE GAIL!

This puts me on mind of an old friend of mine, who hit 55, and her and her husband had been married 35 years and worked for nearly 40: (even through having a son and daughter.)  They had had a business of their own (a big store I think,) and sold it for about ÂĢ200K.  They chose to take ÂĢ50K for the two kids (25K each obviously,) and ÂĢ15K each, for each of their 2 grandkids,)  The girl had 2 kids, and the boy - 33 by then, had none and said he was never having any.  THEN she and her husband were going to spend the other ÂĢ120K on travelling the world for a couple of years; possibly 3, and they were set on visiting all 7 continents.

Well, the furore that this caused was unprecedented!  Their daughter called them selfish, horrible people who were squandering their kids' inheritance, and the grandkids inheritance (bear in mind they had a house worth ÂĢ120K that the kids would have too!)  And the daughter also said 'who the hell is going to help me look after Abbie and Josh for the 2 or 3 years you are galavanting about the planet?!'  Their son was a pain too; and proper kicked off about his sister's kids getting ÂĢ15K each, as he didn't HAVE kids, so it wasn't fair!

The emotional blackmail and passive aggressive stance the daughter took, and the son too, made them cancel the whole thing!!!  I remember saying to my family - who knew them as well - "what the HELL!  I would NEVER have done this: gone and cancelled for some spoilt little bitch like this!"  In fact, I would have changed the will, so all the money from my house went to charity and they didn't get a penny!  We lost touch when we left the area.  But I would bet that this woman is still pandering to her spoilt daughter!

FM

LOL, hamster chops Gail!

Also hate it how people assume they have a automatic entitlement to their parents money when they havent earned it,  But maybe the parents are to blame by spoiling them.  I mean the uncle who bought his daughter a HOUSE for a wedding present FFS.  And paid her 5 kids through uni.  How can you ever have any appreciation of the worth of money and how hard it is to come by, if shitloads of money like this is given to you?

FM

All the family saw Audrey have a "turn" the other day. Only Gail knows that at a recent check up at the docs that Audrey has high blood pressure. So how come if she loves her Mum she didn't think the other night that the stress they're all piling up on her led to her showing signs of the physical stress she's under. I love that Audrey won't be bullied by what they're all saying about Lewis and her money. At least Nick is taking the middle ground

I only just started watching Corrie recently, was always more towards EE but  I watched the first episode where that bloke at the factory was alive and plotting to scam that other woman... Was hooked after just one episode, there seems to be a huge cast. Not always the same families and stories so i watched all the episodes that were available on itv player so caught up... Still learning the names of some of the characters. Glad ken finally told that girl to get a grip... She comes across as a right pain in the arse. Deirdre just seems hilarious.

YR - I'm starting to wonder if there's something nasty in store for Audrey healthwise?   Maybe that's what will bring Gail and David around/

I was wondering that too Kaffy. If so Gail and David will realise her health is more important than worrying about money. Great script again tonight

Yes, welcome to Corrie world Mince

Can't say I had ever seen just one episode when growing up... the whole family would sit and watch it and I would walk past without taking a glimpse I suppose i'd likely miss it as I always had football or rugby on the other channel at the same time, I only ever caught up on EE on bbc iplayer. My old man used to say to my brothers that my mum was "Having a Deidre"... I now understand what he was on about.

That Tracey seems a right pain in the arse, never mind the other woman... none of them seemed to be interested where the mother was whilst her daughter was wandering off outside on her own
