So . . . you win it HUGE!!
Would you GO PUBLIC?
Would you EMIGRATE?
Would you SPEND SPEND SPEND?
Two pensioners near us (well Sunderland) have won 2.5million and gone public.
Crazy or not?

No,
No,
and YES
oh and I'd treat my friends Maybe I'd even tell 'em how much I'd won
I would NEVER go public
I would move for sure
May even have a place overseas (St.Kitts looks nice as does Cape Cod)
Emigrate - probably - eventually.
First purchase - a people carrier for me Mum (awww)
Second purchase - a classic Mercedes from 1950's (for me - yay!!)
I agree with Saz:
No
No
Yes
No
No
and only after I made sure all family members were sorted.
Don't be scared to explain why - ok
Don't be scared to explain why - ok
Going public - No, because I am a bit of a private person and don't see what business it would be of anyone else
Emigrate - No, because have you seen outside today? The sun is shining, the garden looks lovely ... this is the best place in the world to live. I would spend a lot on travelling though
Spend, spend, spend - oh yes, that's why I do the lottery
OK?
No, i couldn't cope with all the skeletons jumping out of my closet
No, but i would move
Yes, i always say i would share, spend and save
I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut about it I'd like to think I'd be all secretive about it...but I think I'd buy my own stage in the middle of town, jump on it with a microphone and big loud speakers and shout 'I'M RICH! I'M RICH!!!! I might even chuck a few notes out to the passing crowd
I don't know if I'd emigrate..I might by some where on the Shannon and live there, and have a few more houses peppered all over the world...but then...maybe I might just stay in a hotel so I don't have to worry about me mansions while I'm away from them
So I guess the answer to the would I spend big question would be a Yes then...damn bloody right I would
I agree with this, plus I don't want a load of people on my (new) doorstep pleading for money
I wouldn't emigrate cos I'd miss my family too much
My first purchase? If it counts I'd like to pay a few people's debts off for them
I agree with this, plus I don't want a load of people on my (new) doorstep pleading for money
You'd have 'staff' to keep them away dear
No not go public,
Yes go away
Yes spend and give away to loved ones.
No to going public.
No to emigrating.
No to spend, spend, spend.
I'd even try my hardest to avoid telling Mr Blizz.
I wud never go public
Think of the potential threat to your family!!
It wud horrify me to have anyone knock on my door and plead poverty!!
What would your weakness be?
I would have to have a fleet of lovely old cars - starting with a gorgeous mercedes SL

Ooh yes, I'd do my Morris Minor up.
It's been sitting in my garage for ten years now.
I'd never go public, I would'nt even tell the family, I'd start a buiseness and make it sound like I was doing really well to give my family gifts cos people don't expect you to give away your hard earned cash but they expect your winnings..
My BIL friend won ÂĢ4.5 million on the lotto, he gave all his family money but his own brother blackmailed him that if he did'nt give him more money he'd go public that they'd won..they live a very lonely life now....
Wouldn't go public.
Only my mum would ever know how much I really won.
Would look after the same people I said I would when the lotto first started back in '94 (but also now including my son).
Invest in bricks. Lots of em.
And damn right I'd enjoy the shekels. Rodeo drive baby
Not a chance would I go public! I would buy a house abroad and a new one here, then give money to all my closest family and friends and then go stay in the house abroad while the news settled. On returning I'd try to live as normally as possible.
My weakness would be shoes.
Oh and I'd also hire a personal chef and trainer
No, I would never go public. My o/h says I'd reply to every begging letter and be skint within a year.
Emigrate? Very possibly but I'd have to think more about that one.
And of course I'd spend, spend, spend ~ after I'd taken care of family and friends.
Good luck to those pensioners, I hope they have a great time spending their winnings.

Blimey, how sad!
I wouldn't go public, but id go mental and spend spend SPEND!!!!
I wouldnt emigrate but Id buy a couple of houses abroad in nice warm places, a big home in the new forest with lots of land to build a HUGE cat enclosure. Id also buy a trendy flat in Brighton and a crash pad in Galsgow.

Same as now, clothes and shoes... just more expensive ones And I could have a fab walk in wardrobe *swoons*
I'd also have a few cars I reckon... maybe a DB9 first
Threble No!
I certainly wouldn't need a car either.
Yes, I'd go public
Yes, I'd immigrate
Yes, I'd spend
Firstly, I'd enjoy lording it over some people I've met, the fact that my wealth was entirely unearned would make it all the better! Conversely, I would give to charity big time.
Secondly, I'd love to have a place somewhere warm and also somewhere cold for the winter.
Thirdly, you can't take it with you.
I want one soooo much
No, I would't tell anyone.
Yes, I'd be on the first plane possible once the money was in the bank
And yes, I'd spend a fortune

Somewhere hot I assume?
Oh yes, somewhere very hot.
I would never go public for many reasons mainly to protect my family as there are some nut cases about out there,I would see my family alright and close friends and my favourite charities, buy myself a fab car and have a chauffeur to drive for me around in it
Same as now, clothes and shoes... just more expensive ones And I could have a fab walk in wardrobe *swoons*

How much you planning on winning?
I would buy a nice house with a massive garden big enough for acres of land for the cats enclosure, couple of nice cars, bit to charity and just live comfortably off the rest and not tell a soul!!

We had a client who had separated from her husband, but the separation wasn't finalised....he won a million euro on the Lotto...died shortly after he claimed it...and she bagged the lot (no kids) I'd say he was doing sommersaults in his grave
It's a couple from Falkirk in Scotland that scooped the prize , they are going public.

He did say if you won big! I'm talking Euromillions big
I cycle past a house in the country which looks as if it were designed by a drunken footballer. Automobile rich, it was bought by a lottery winner from an industrial town nearby. The woman missed her friends, the guy didn't fit in, and the marriage split up.
It's safe to say that none of us on here will ever win a large life changing amount. I don't think that I would want to. The Thunderball would be nice though!
No, I wouldn't go public. What business is it of people who don't know me?
I would semi-emigrate. What I mean is that I'd buy a house here and another in Tokyo, and split my time between the two.
I'd spend some, but I'm quite a cautious person so I'd make sure that I save as well.
