I've had 3 or 4 malware infections (well.. I have had one... the kids had the others)...   they all pretended to be antivirus software... and started off by flashing up warnings that I had been infected and then went on to try & get me to pay for their software to remove it.

these so called infections were ficticious.

the worst one I had then proceeded to disable my antivirus, and then any other program I tried to open, including my internet connection & task manager.

It also (& nice touch this)... changed my wallpaper to an ugly green with a dirty great message on it saying "IF YOU DO NOT PAY TO REMOVE THIS INFECTION YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR FAMILY, YOUR FRIENDS & YOUR COLLEAGUES AT RISK"

You can get rid of Malware infections...  but it can be a right pain in the backside to do it.. and will require another non infected pooter to do it.

Ducky had one recently...    Duds sorted hers in a couple of hours.

exactly Sezit - you weren't to know  anyone of us could have fallen prey to it and I would thoroughly recommend that you down load Ditty's link for the free anti malaware software - I've got it and am running it now just in case

I thought that image was too good to be true, the evil, dispicable person who did that.

I dunno if Avast would pick it up Sez..     as I said, I once got infected whilst running AVG free.

so far so good though...    if I were you I would download & run malwarebytes to be on the safe side

Whenever a website is discovered to have some badware such as malware on any of its pages, that can be notified to a website called StopBadware.org which is sponsored by Google, Mozilla and others. This website then puts out a warning out so that people searching on Google for instance can see that there is such a warning.

It is then down to the infected website to check out if there is a problem, to sort it out if they find a problem, then inform StopBadware.org that their site is clear. Once StopBadware.org is satisfied that the site is clear, the warning is taken down.

It is possible to search StopBadware.org for specific websites to get more information. I see that the wondercliparts site was flagged as containing badware only today. It goes into further details and says:

Of the 21 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 2 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2011-06-20, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2011-06-20.

As the warning would appear for the site as a whole, it is likely that the photo posted is in fact harmless, it just depends as to whether it came from one of the infected pages.
