Well....   we got him!

he's really lovely!    thought he was 4 monthd old (and tbh, was thinking "if the breeder thinks this is exceptionally bright I have to wonder what sort of dogs she has previously had in her life"..   then I find out he is actually only 8 weeks old.

He is just a baybeeeee!   And so..  is actually really bright, really brave..   and is going to be bloody massive!!!!!!

I already love him though..      and..    he seems to love me too (& MrD obviously)

First pic is of him on Ducky's beloved lawn (we were passing her house.. it would have been rude not to have invited ourselves round..    and finally after all these years done the face to face meet thing)..

these are later on, when he was exploring his new home...

his Loki magic is obviously working...

I have just felt hungry and eaten the first proper meal all week...

and,,..  he is so very different from AJ that I don't feel any betrayal  (consequently I am still devastated...   but I didn't expect not to be..    I am just glad that the loss of AJ  feels like a very separete thing to Loki joining our family)

He was amazingly good..    whimpered a few minutes..  gave two little barks..   and then crashed out til the morning - RESULT!!

and..  lol at napping when he does..   they say that when you have your first baby you know...   however, its a luxury you only get with your first baby..     I think how its looking like its going to pan out is we do it in some sort of shift/rotation,..     MrD, Ickle & me  (Alf loves Loki..   but he's not coming forward to put himself out over him)..    anyways..  I'm happy to do the early morning shifts..   so long as someone else does the evening shifts..   Ickle will do the days I am at work.

we'll work it out..     I tell ya - its really bizarre having such a polite puppy..   it is really different to a terrier...     I can't actually say one is better than the other..   its just really different.     Pro's & Cons type of thing.

Sooner we can get Loki to puppy school the better though (& by Loki, I really mean MrD     When I say, "stay out in the garden til he does a wee" it does actually mean stay out in the garden til he does a wee )
