I think they're subliminal cos they go straight to your subconscious, bypassing your conscious mind. *strokes chin... tries to look intellectual* That LG logo is a smiley face and people smiling at you makes you happy and you associate happiness with the brand.

I think I was already aware of most of those.

Of the ones I didn't know: I can't remember the last time I saw the FedEx logo, and I'd never heard of Baskin Robbins before. The only one that surprised me was the Toblerone bear: echos of the BT serpent (although I don't think that one was deliberate...)

I would agree that most of them are not really "subliminal". The Tour de France one certainly isn't, for example. However I'd argue the FedEx, Amazon and LG logos are to some extent: they're all designed to make you feel positive and "good" about their brands.

This is O/T, but I hope other FMs will humour me as I indulge in a rare bout of self-congratulation:
As you know, I'm not the most prolific of FMs, and I've never been all that bothered about Activity Points and Community Rank. However, I set myself a target during this year's "civilian" BB to get over the 120,000 point mark by Christmas. Despite a lack of posting over the last month that verged on wilful sabotage (and saw me slip back a place in the rankings), the post above finally pushed me over 120,000 Activity Points!

Congratulations on reaching your target, Eugene.

  Congratulations Eugene

[I take a sneaky look at my rankings now and again   ]

 Ditto!

Well, so many of other posts seemed to be going on about whether these logos were or weren't subliminal and very few were about the supposed message - remember the opener took us to a site that said 'Subliminal Messages'.
