Brilliant actress who dd well to reach 79 given that she'd had health problems most of her adult life...and what a life....she certainly lived! And as Pirate said them violet eyes were completely unique.

Exactly what I was thinking. She did well to live as long as she did - she was in constant pain and addicted to painkillers - she had health problems for a long, long time.Still sad though but maybe now she will be free from pain. RIP Lovely Liz!

I've watched quite a few of her films over many years and always enjoyed them, also enjoyed the interviews she's given over the years. Another star has left and been released of earthly pain as everyone is eventually, thanks Liz xxxxx
I loved her as Velvet Brown in National Velvet. I so wanted to be Velvet as a kid as I was totally horse mad.
Funny how things turn out - the closest I've got to the Grand National as an adult is the multiple times I've demonstrated outside Aintree

She was brilliant in 'Cat on a hot tin roof' and 'Who's afraid of Virginia Wolf'.
I never rated her acting at all...she was a stunning lady though. RIP
