is it just me or does anyone else find these pageants/kids/their parents really disturbing and wrong?

- no, I find these pageants very disturbing, the parents are really obsessed and possibly possessed by something, it's like a cult-ish behaviour, weird.

I won't watch.

There was one set in the UK recently. Some very disturbing behaviour form the mothers on show. One six year old who had already had plastic surgery.

I don't even like kids with pierced ears.

What in gods name are the parents thinking of? Are they really trying to teach their kids that dressing up and simpering at everyone in order to get one over on the next little kid will stand them in better stead than intelligence and human decency?

Plastic surgery at six! God, if the child was ill fine, but for those reasons!

My daughter was in primary school when she had her ears pierced - I really hate to see babies with them done.
