I have been comparing the many and varied little avatars most of us have with the stars we used to have on the old (dare I say it?) Ch4BB Forum.
Not everybody has one, but most do, and I found at first it all looked rather busy and untidy and flashy.
But do you know I now rather like them.
Many have now become so familiar they sort of identify the poster.
The connection or link with the real poster may be vague, but I would bet that many avatars do say something about the poster.
They are more individual than stars (although of course many posters are stars), and they become something of a trade mark.
I now like them.
