150, I like plenty of visibility
I'm a big fan of the 100w for similar reasons.
I have a soft spot for 80w too.

You talk so much sense the EC
peach
in a 40watt glow

But you don't get many holders or shades that will tolerate that level of wattage!

I don't think all the bulbs in my house add up to 150 watts

I always thought it was candlepower
I normally use 100's but I think they're too strong. They keep popping and I have to replace
If they keep popping (I'm assuming you're meaning in a shorter time than expected) then that would suggest to me that the bulb holder and/or the wiring is/are defective. Or the holder/wiring is not made to take a bulb of that strength.

Thats nice at this time of year Theres a "film" on Netflix called "Fireplace For Your Home" - just a log fire burning with crackling noises and Christmas carols.
I'm gonna play it and light candles to feel Christmassy

I do have a fireplace but the fire's very rarely on. I normally put the heating on. I've got a large vase with dried grasses and reeds in, in front of the gas fire
I might take a pic sometime and post it

Same here. It's one of these gas fires with the pretend coal.

Yeah,I get real flames, when I can be harassed to bend down and ignite the gas, but it's not often I do that (due to an ongoing problem with my leg that doesn't allow me to bend properly now)
