I bloody love little Gavroche, and, I know not everyone agrees, but I think Sacha Baron Cohen is LOL brilliant. Perving over Enjoiras atm although WARNING to Kaffs, he looks a wee bit like that slappable Harry one with that hair And, on topic for a BB forum think the guy Madame Thenardier teases during Master of The House looks like Welsh Glyn and that Samantha Barks/Eponine looks like Imogen Thomas

I would disagree - I'd say different to normal cast ensemble of singers but not crap.

I think his style of singing suits the brusque/insensitive Javare ....the others sing with sensitivity - Javare is raw.

Ilove this

I know you really like him Sooz but he sounds like he's straining and screeching to me most of the time, although I do think he acts the part and tells the story v v well. ^^^^That is one of his much better efforts tbf  along with the one just before he tops himself, shame that they are accompanied by the only carp cinematography, (no stars, that eagle the pretendy walking the edge and the v v unconvincing shop dummy being chucked off the bridge)

that's me, supes        I only hope I'm not disappointed (I'm sure I won't be)  but of the ones I was going with - one went with a friend and didn't want to go back on account of it being so long, and the others dropped out because of the length (both get too sore if they sit for a long time and the uncomfy cinema is a nightmare for them at the best of times)   I want the experience to be the best it can, so going to wait a bit longer for the plush comfy theatre experience.   Eventually.

Daughter said the same, Supes but I don't think she actually 'likes' musicals.

She loves Cabaret, Blues Brothers and suchlike, but not when they sing practically ALL the time.

Anyhoo, I gave her a slap and told her she'd never make it as a luvvie

OMG I've just googled him to see what he's up to, whilst I found out shortly after the show that he was the son of a guy I used to be v friendly with in my clubbing days, I had NO idea that he was Amelia Lily's big brother! http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/n...exit-84229-29571475/

I did see it at the flicks first time Cos, (couldn't wait!) now I'm on a sofa with my feet up and fag in hand, thanks to a little delivery from a Turkish market

Now I hate to say it .................but I told you so I love it - play it at least three times a day - I've added it to my list of funeral songs - I'm currently up to a 'long weekend' event.

The secret is .............put all previous perceptions of Javare away. I read up a bit about the book and characters. Javare was not a refined character - I don't think he'd have a pure and refined singing voice. I think he makes the character very believable.

******You know nothing of Javert
I was born inside a jail
I was born with scum like you

I am from the gutter too! ********

Those are great lines Soozy, giving insight into his character, and he does sing some numbers a lot better than others. Gotta love your logic re 'unrefined characters/ voices' It's not that I don't like RC as Javert in the film, I do, and am much more taken with watching/listening to him than with the characters playing out the sugary sweet Cosette/Marius love story. Haven't bought the CD *still cross that my favourite song is not on there* Goes to bed singing: 'Do you hear the people sing, singing the songs of angry men, it is the music of a people who will not be slaves again, when the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums, there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes'

We're delighted to let you know that Universal Music have today announced the upcoming release on March 18th of a 2CD deluxe version of the Les MisÃĐrables soundtrack featuring an additional 22 tracks! The updated set will also include previously unseen photos and additional liner notes.

"As post-production on the Les MisÃĐrables film was extremely tight, with recording of the orchestra, final edit and sound mix having to be completed in only a few weeks from early October to mid-November to achieve the first screenings, there was only enough time to remix a limited number of tracks so that at least a highlights album could be released for the fans before Christmas," producer Cameron Mackintosh said.

"We are delighted with the success of that album and very pleased that we can now add 22 more tracks so that audiences can now enjoy at home a full representation of the film's powerful and emotional version of this great score."

The deluxe edition will be available in physical and digital formats. For those who have bought the original highlights album, they may complete their collection by purchasing the new tracks individually.

The deluxe CD version can be pre-ordered at Amazon now:http://smarturl.it/LMAMZNDEL

How  bloody annoying, I relented and bought the hls album this week, wish I'd waited a month
