You are welcome Soozy. Please don't tell Mr Woo it was me...
Why oh why did they not release a full soundtrack/double CD My favourite track 'Do You Hear The People Sing' is not on there, nor other favourites 'A Little Fall of Rain' and 'Little People.' V disappointed
Sooz, I am going tomorrow for the third time!!
I cried so much last time I might have to take a man size box with me tomorrow!
I worked out why I don't like Russell Crowe singing Stars though ... there are no stars out (in their multitudes!) whilst he is singing it. I have to say though, I did find him slightly more menacing, and more Javert like, on second watching.I also got a much stronger sense of Valjeans continual running and hiding.
I might just nip into Smiths or somewhere and get the CD tomorrow too
Nothing to do with him not having the greatest voice then Rexi?
Even in the show I switch off a bit at Heart Full of Love (I;m not a big fan of Cosette (Collette/Courgette) - She's a bit wet IMO. Thought the little Cosette was fab though and ........I liked the Thenadier's more second time around. I did find them and Gavroche very Oliver like though.
Did you find it odd that he was a proper cockney but the factory workers were proper northern lassies?
I thought SBC was fanbloodytastic, same with little Gavroche, loved him
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sooz, first thing hubby said after leaving the cinema was that Gavroche was a little bit Jack Wilde!!
I also heard really really strong Irish accents.
I didn't like the Thenadiers the first time, liked their first song the second time of watching it, but still didn't like them being carried out of the wedding scene.
Rexi, I remember saying to my fella, early on in the film, "How come HJ and RC are Irish?"
Ha Ha erinp, brilliant, thanks, I've nicked it x

Yes ...........Do you hear the people is at the end but it's the 'finale' version. Little Drop of Rain was superbly done in the film - can't believe it's not on the soundtrack
And .....................I love Russell Crowes singing - I know it's not theatrical but ................it's so heartfelt. stars is my new 'current' fave - I do change a lot though.
The actor who played Enjolras would have been a better Marius!
What a looker too, gawjusss

You need to keep your eye on the specialist soundtrack market. They often release expanded versions of scores.
I buy a lot of soundtracks on CD. I find that they let the initial surge die down before they release an expanded version - cynical, but the fans will buy again.
Companies to look out for are Varese Sarabande, Intrada, FSM and LaLaLand Records. These companies usually release older music from films, but still worth keeping a check on them just in case.
If I spot an expanded release I will post on here.

It will be going outside my bedroom door on the landing - Mr Woo has said NO WAY - as he can't cope with the competition - no one listens to Mr Woo It's mt house it goes where I say!!
LOL Soozy, suppose at least you're not putting up on the bedroom wall

I might put it on the headboard ......keep Mr Woo on his toes
Incidentally I always like Enjoiras better than Marius (the guy in the film was particularly good) is it something to do with the character though? Marius is a bit of a self pitying/lovelorn divvy isn't he? Enjoiras has passion OMO.

Guess so Soozy, Marius and the grown up Cosette are a bit wet and simpering. I can never get my head around why Cosette is my superfan sister's, (she's watched the film 8 times now!) favourite character Adult Cosette is probably my least favourite character
Why not watch the film and judge for yourself?
But, but, but ........don't you love Cabaret? I know it's not 'traditional' but .............you never know until you've tried. Gwan - give it a go.

I guess it is to do with character......maybe I saw Aaron Tveit(Enjolras) more fitting to Marius more in looks though. I did quite fancy him in the role of Enjolras too
Eddie Redmayne's hair distracted me, it looked styled in quite a modern way(or perhaps to hide a receeding hairline?).
I'm glad Anne Hathaway is getting the recognition she deserves for this role.
Hitler reacts to Russel Crowe as Javert
Warning: sweary words and Soozy you won't like it!
I'm still waiting for my movie poster.

I will watch that a bit later.
I'm waiting for my sister to call. She's been to see it this afternoon at my insistence - she's never even seen the show. I'm so jealous - it must be lovely seeing it for the first time all over again
Not my cup of tea at all.The only musicals I like Are "The rocky horror show" and "The Blues Brothers"which is really a great comedy with music in it,rather than a strict musical.

My best friend saw it for the first time last week and LOVED it. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for my parcel from my sis' so I can watch over and over again, as the woman who was supposed to be posting when visiting the UK decided that she didn't want to bring out cos of customs reg's

Very funny .............wrong but funny all the same
I finally saw it last night!! Amazing I loved it!!
I thought Hugh Jackman was incredible and i loved that first scene pulling the boat in
I went with friends as Mr LB didn't fancy it even tho he enjoyed the stage show - I'm going to try and persuade him to come with me!
Min's been to see it and gave Russell Crowe the thumbs down
But I'm not sure if that's because she'd seen the Life of Pi a few days before and was still trilling with enthusiasm about that.
The sob factor got a 9/10 though so all's not lost
My sis has just phoned - she saw it this afternoon and absolutely loved it. I'm so pleased - I hate it when people don't enjoy it My girlies friends went to see it the other day and have talked her our of it - they're calling it Tres Mis
And ...............I thought Russell Crowe was fab -
Russell Crowe is not the best singer but he was much better than I thought he would be and, as others have said, his performance means the singing isn't quite so important (if that makes sense)
It's arrived
On 3rd watching now, Russell Crowe really is a carp singer

I would disagree - I'd say different to normal cast ensemble of singers but not crap.
I think his style of singing suits the brusque/insensitive Javare ....the others sing with sensitivity - Javare is raw.
Ilove this
I'm going to see it on the 14th................. of March.
*twiddles thumbs*

thanks Soozy... I'll be about the only person in the world who's not seen it by then. It's coming to a local theatre though (not a cinema) so I know it's comfy and much closer to home. Only a month and a bit to go
