I worked out why I don't like Russell Crowe singing Stars though ... there are no stars out (in their multitudes!) whilst he is singing it. I have to say though, I did find him slightly more menacing, and more Javert like, on second watching.I also got a much stronger sense of Valjeans continual running and hiding.

I might just nip into Smiths or somewhere and get the CD tomorrow too

Nothing to do with him not having the greatest voice then Rexi?

Did you find it odd that he was a proper cockney but the factory workers were proper northern lassies?

I thought SBC was fanbloodytastic, same with little Gavroche, loved him

I also heard really really strong Irish accents.

I didn't like the Thenadiers the first time, liked their first song the second time of watching it, but still didn't like them being carried out of the wedding scene.

Rexi, I remember saying to my fella, early on in the film, "How come HJ and RC are Irish?"

Yes ...........Do you hear the people is at the end but it's the 'finale' version. Little Drop of Rain was superbly done in the film - can't believe it's not on the soundtrack

And .....................I love Russell Crowes singing - I know it's not theatrical but ................it's so heartfelt. stars is my new 'current' fave - I do change a lot though.

You need to keep your eye on the specialist soundtrack market. They often release expanded versions of scores.

I buy a lot of soundtracks on CD. I find that they let the initial surge die down before they release an expanded version - cynical, but the fans will buy again.

Companies to look out for are Varese Sarabande, Intrada, FSM and LaLaLand Records. These companies usually release older music from films, but still worth keeping a check on them just in case.

If I spot an expanded release I will post on here.

It will be going outside my bedroom door on the landing - Mr Woo has said NO WAY - as he can't cope with the competition - no one listens to Mr Woo It's mt house it goes where I say!!

LOL Soozy, suppose at least you're not putting up on the bedroom wall

I might put it on the headboard ......keep Mr Woo on his toes

Incidentally I always like Enjoiras better than Marius (the guy in the film was particularly good) is it something to do with the character though? Marius is a bit of a self pitying/lovelorn  divvy isn't he? Enjoiras has passion OMO.

Guess so Soozy, Marius and the grown up Cosette are a bit wet and simpering. I can never get my head around why Cosette is my superfan sister's, (she's watched the film 8 times now!) favourite character  Adult Cosette is probably my least favourite character

Why not watch the film and judge for yourself?

I guess it is to do with character......maybe I saw Aaron Tveit(Enjolras) more fitting to Marius more in looks though. I did quite fancy him in the role of Enjolras too

Eddie Redmayne's hair distracted me, it looked styled in quite a modern way(or perhaps to hide a receeding hairline?).

I'm glad Anne Hathaway is getting the recognition she deserves for this role.

I will watch that a bit later.

I'm waiting for my sister to call. She's been to see it this afternoon at my insistence - she's never even seen the show. I'm so jealous - it must be lovely seeing it for the first time all over again

My best friend saw it for the first time last week and LOVED it. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for my parcel from my sis' so I can watch over and over again, as the woman who was supposed to be posting when visiting the UK decided that she didn't want to bring out cos of customs reg's

Oooooooooh Kaffy - I'm excited for you!

thanks Soozy... I'll be about the only person in the world who's not seen it by then.  It's coming to a local theatre though (not a cinema) so I know it's comfy and much closer to home.   Only a month and a bit to go
