Hurry back .....................dying to know what you thought
Pirate, I'm always a bit scared of those sites, is it okay? I won't watch it myself on there as I'm going to see it at the cinema on Mon, but my sis and some of her friends in Turkey are absolutely dying to see it so will send link to them if it's safe?

I've had feedback from a few friends who saw it yesterday , all extremely positive
really nice movie to watch

I was wondering the same Supes ... I did click on it, but got tits and bums, so clicked off!!!
It was FABULOUS
I'm not going to say anymore until you've all seen it, coz I don't want to influence you. All I will say though is take loads of Kleenex ... I went fully made up and came out a wreck
Hi Willsmarry I haven't seen the film, but welcome to the forum.
You should see it Baz
and hi willsmarry - forgive me for being rude, but I was a bit excited about the film. You liked it??
TOO EXCITED
OMG, OMG it was FABULOUS, want to go right back and watch it over again. but my emotions are shot!
Kaffs you've so got to get yourself there double quick so we can all talk about it. Surprised how quiet it was, cinema was about 2/3rds empty, had a whole row to ourselves and all of the seats in front of us, (about 15/20 rows) were free

I'm surprised at that too - although I suppose it was a Monday night...
I won't be seeing it until Saturday, and I expect it to be heaving.
(It will also be my first cinema trip in years that I haven't personally organized, so I'm a little nervous about that too...)
I'm trying supes... it's not easy organising a shift working nurse and mum of two to be available at the same time as me. I am considering just buggering off on my own without telling them - but it's better if you've got someone to walk out with if you're all red puffy eyed. Feel free to talk about it. A girl in the office went at the weekend and she said it was really good but "I wasn't crying or anything like that.." Pfft.. heart of stone - I was welling up watching the programme about the making of it!

Yes, I chose a Monday night on purpose Eugene 'cos I assumed it would be less busy, (can't do big crowds and being 'squeezed in') Hope you enjoy on Saturday, it really is brilliant. Oh and when I got to the cinema it turned out the booking for our tickets that I'd made on line about two weeks previously hadn't gone through! Apparently they'd had a problem with their system and bookings were showing as having been completed when they hadn't, so if it's a Showcase cinema your friend has booked best they double check.

You'll definitely need the Kleenex Kaffs!

Yes, me too! I sent the link to my sis and she got 'not available in your country.' She's desperate to see it and reckons if there's still no copy DVD available on her local market this week then she is getting on a flight!
I'm back!!!
A-MAY-ZINGGG!!!!
My expectations were high but it even exceeded them. What a fabulous film - so emotional, so well done, such a fabulous cast - I'm still reeling and raving about it.
I love the show .......I was worried that this might just taint it....................dare I say - it's even better
Like others I had my reservations about Russell Crowe but I thought he was superb - a great voice (not as great as some of the stage Javares) but what he lacked in volume he certainly made up for in sheer presence and menace.
Ann Hathawy BRILLIANT/ Hugh Jackman FANTASTIC/ Samantha Barks/REMARKABLE ..........I even grew to love Cosette a little.
Anyone who's not seen it yet .....HURRY UP - it's FABULOUS. I'm gonna try and see it again ASAP!
I'm sooo glad you enjoyed it sooz ... I'm going again on Thursday afternoon with my mum, who got so cross that I'd gone without her on Saturday
Then I might go agin next week with a friend
Soozy! So glad you had a great time - i can well believe it could just 'edge' the live show a little because of the intimacy of the filming. Damn... I'm going to have to go on my own I think!
Do it Kaffs
I'm working on my girlie - I want to go tonight or tomorrow. She's not responded to my e mail - I just have to see it again soon.
Loved the bit with Javare and Gavroche after the battle shan't say anymore but it made me snivel a bit .........apparently it was Russel Crowes idea.
I watched Les Mis over here in Korea, it was in English.
If I'm being honest, it really wasn't for me. I knew going in it was a musical (i havent seen the stage show) but they wouldn't stop bloody singing. Even when they were having conversations with each other - they were singing. It did my nork in.
Having said that, the production was super impressive. The sets, location and all that were top notch.
If you love the stage show, you're sure to love this, but for me it was a chore to get through.
Awwwwwwwwwwww Rawky. - Come on
Let me take you to the world of musicals
****Will you join in my crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Les Mis without music an impossibility*****
You have to sing that to the tune of can You Hear the People Sing.
Oliver is the best musical. Innit.

Diva (1981) best soundtrack
My kinda musical
My favourite musical (prior to this) was Cabaret .............love it .......Les Mis however really stands in a league of it's own IMO - not simply the best musical but possibly the best film I've seen - a totally different cinematic experience - I was enraptured from the very beginning to the end.
Dramatic or what?

I know. I primarily went to impress the girl I was taken. Hoped she would think I was being cultured with a dash a sensitivity.

I do love the stage show, so I want to go and see it to see how they have moved it over into a film As per Joe's mention just there ^ I also want to see Lincoln, it looks bloody fab
The critics also hated the stage show 20 odd years ago ..........it's still running today and is more popular than ever. As you say critics don't always speak for the people.

Did it work? O,r was she simply reduced to a snivelling wreck?
Snivelling about the film, not the date obviously. More importantly - if you were out to impress I hope you were wearing the infamous gold tie.
