For the uninitiated (sp) plebs, sorry, but what's the draw?
I just love a good musical TBH and it's a great musical IMO.
Great characters, good story and fantastic/moving music.
I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it .......................I hope I don't feel let down.
I was talking to my sis' in Turkey about this, she's a big Les Mis fan, (bought her an antique edition of the book some years ago which she treasures,) we reckon she'll get it on DVD on a market there way before any of us get to see it here in the UK!

That seems rather pointless. If you're really looking forward to seeing a movie, then the cinema is the best way to do it, just for the experience... unless Turkey doesn't have any cinemas?

They're not in abundance Rawks, imagine the cities must have them, but certainly none within hundreds of miles of where she is. Oh and *coughs* at someone who is going to download free music of someone who allegedly abuses babies....Sighhhhh.... Welcome back by the way

In my defence toots, I said if I wanted to own their music I probably would just naughtily download, not that I AM going to download it...
Which I'm not going to do anyway considering the extra vile information I discovered after making that statement.
Just been to see The Hobbit this evening. Saw Les Mis trailer whilst at the cinema .... deffo one for my daughter and I in the new year
Trailers, stills etc., here: http://www.lesmiserablesfilm.com/splashpage/ for those that want a sneaky preview
I've just worked my way through all of those (again) Cosi ... thanks
And now I am soooo excited about it I am watching (again) the Matt Lucas in Les Mis programme, which I have just found on some obscure channel!

OMG, I've just watched on catchup and cried! https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/...rables-movie-special
It's going to be FANBLOODYTASTIC. Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway are AMAZING, the rest look pretty darn good too, (apart from Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, don't like her whiney voice, but I'm just going to have to somehow get over that!)
I also watched Hugh Jackman on the Graham Norton show, I'm in love, a lot!

Brilliant wasn't it? I don't think I've ever been so excited about a film. I'm counting down the days.
Roll on January 12th. We've got posh sofa seats booked at our local cinema.
i must remember to stockpile tissues!

supes - I watched it yesterday too - agree with all you say (yes, Cosette is the only fly in the ointment, but she's not that important) It's going to be amazing - you can really SEE the emotion, on stage you feel it, but seeing their faces so close up. I can't wait either but you guys will get in first - I'll have to wait till the initial rush dies down. I loved Hugh on GN too - one of my FB friends has posted 'Hugh Jackman - Bring him home? Oh.. if only.....'
The pergormance I'm looking forward to (apart from all of them) is Russel Crowe as Javare - I really have a feeling he's gonna be the show stopper.

Kaffs, I hate big crowds and pushing and shoving, makes me really anxious, so I've booked for Monday 14th, when hopefully it will be less busy than the weekend

You can have Russell Soozy, I'll have Hugh

Whoooo - you will be the first one of us to watch it - we expect a full review
Oooh Angel .......how exciting ...........we need feed back (but only if it's good) - I couldn't bear it if someone came on and said it was a bit of a let down
Tickets booked. Fri 11th Jan @ 8pm ...
You can be our Barry Norman, Angel Be nice to know what you thought of it; after watching the Movie Special I fancy it even more now.
It's getting fabulous reviews, but I still can't fancy the cinema to see it.
Saying that, I can't be arsed with the cinema to see movies I really do want to see. I'd rather be at home, so I can wander off to the loo or to put the kettle on etc.
I'm like that with most films, Cinds - but I'd like to see this one at the cinema. I want to get 'lost' in it (so knowing my luck I'll be sat beside a sweet paper rustling singalong type)
I very, very rarely go to the cinema either but i do want all the effects with this one. I'm a bit of a fidget but I think/hope I'll be transfixed.
Nope, fag and a glass of wine, all phones off, blinds drawn and just me and his nibs in the telly room. I don't sit next to any old random in the dark - not even for Hugh.
I used to love Leicester Square back in the day; big comfy armchairs and an ashtray fitted into the arm of the chair
Obviously any old random wouldn't want to sit next to me either

It's many, many years since I've been to Leicester Sq Odeon - we used to go almost every Sunday - The Sting, Jaws, Towering Inferno, Fist of Fury, The Exorcist. Happy Days ...............I'll be there on Jan 14th - reliving our courtship (3 days after our 37th anniversary )

That's about the last time I saw a film there too
Hope you enjoy your belated Anniversary visit, Soozy
