I love London Underground.  It's like a f*cking war zone.  I love it. 

London underground is indeed an affront to civilisation. Gypsie I'll take your word for it and give Bognor a swerve. I'll also add Hemel Hempstead High Street and all of Southall as places to add to your map as 'no-go' areas. Bit of a public service thread this, isn't it?

It's ok if you can shut everything out and just tell yourself you will be where you need to very soon. The Northern Line at 8.30am is a delight, try getting on a train at Waterloo at that time and let me know how you get on

Hull has to be up there..

Teignmouth - the beach is grubby & the pier has rubbish prizes! 

Oh and for me it has to be Hull. I didn't actually manage to see Hull. But I spent over 6 hours trying to get there on a delayed train and ended up having a ruck with Maureen Lipman. If anyone ever asks me to go to Hull again I think I'll strangle them.

Last time I travelled on the underground Karms they were doing line works & what should have taken half an hour took me nearly two hours 
I ended up shouting out across the platform 'Can someone PLEASE tell me where the F*ck I am??' 

Im not a fan of Scarborough either.

Leicester is another really grotty place as well.

Great Yarmouth - the long road full of shops - I think it's called Regent's Road.
That is pretty tacky to be honest.

I've been to Scarborough.  It was shite.  You should try Bridlington though.  It's Scarborough with misplaced pretension. 

I had to spend a lot of time in the West Mids for work and found the people great! They called me the Smokey woman The Dudley accent is one of my faves.

I'm thinking of taking lessons from them.

I remember driving next to Dudley Castle to go to a meeting and I made the grave mistake of asking the client what castle it was. He spent an hour and 17 minutes telling me all about it. I was like this by the time he was finished ---->

Oooh yes! Manchester - lived there for a few years - Moss side, Hulme & Longsight were pretty dire!

Ohhhhh ive been to Bridlingon, and now you mention it...its worse than Scarborough, I remember it was like Scarborough but desolate!

We moved out of Moss Side when I was younger... then moved to Didsbury which was a much better area.

I used to live in Longsight for a bit & travelled through Moss side to get to work in Trafford - never carried a handbag in those days 

I wasnt even allowed out alone when I was young, we were kept in the front garden and my auntie would watch over. Its not as bad as it used to be, Didsbury had its dodgy areas aswell.

I never let mine play out of the garden & never took them out after dark 
We got burgled one night along with several other houses in the street & the following week there was a shooting in the next street to us - I went to visit my sister in Devon & never returned home
