I never tested mine for footie ...

I'm sure it will be fine slim. Like you said elsewhere it will be down to the signal in the area, nothing else. Thanks for the tip though

Am I the only person that likes you but not Chelsea?

No - it is a common theme

Phew

Issy, have a lovely time. I know it's a pain in the behind moving, especially if it's moving from another live. You've done the hard bit. This is the fun time.

thats because you are a normal rational human being

Well I thought so

Good luck to you, and if it's what you want then great.  Being a homeowner is not for me though, and I don't 'get' what is so great about it.   I think it's massively over-rated actually ...  I was a tenant in the late 80s for 5 years and a homeowner in the 90s for 10 or 11 years, then I went back to being a tenant some 5 years ago.  I can honestly say, having experienced both sides, that nothing would make me be a homeowner again......fluctuating and unpredictable mortgage rates, costly repairs, (I mean 10s of 1000s over the years,) insurances for everything, (gas contract, unemployment insurance, life insurance, sickness insurance, bricks and mortar, and so on and so on...)

Plus your mortgage isn't paid if you come to be out of work like rent is...., (the insurance company pulls every excuse out of its arse to not pay, and if they do, it's only for a short time, so if you are long term sick or unemployed, you lose your home...)   And then you have the fear of being made to sell your home in your old age for your 'care..', or being made to sell it to fund your pension (which is something I suspect is going to happen...)   Also, people seem to take the maximum they possibly CAN as a mortgage, not thinking about the consequences if they lose their job and have to take a lesser paid one, or if the become sick, or have a drop in income through having a baby...

Also, I felt a bit trapped as a 'homeowner,' (although strictly speaking, nobody owns their home whilst they have a mortgage,) I mean, if you just want to get up and move jobs or up sticks and move town, you have to sell first...  And THAT is not easy....  Nah, after many years of doing both, I rent now....like the majority of Europe and America....  For some reason Brits seem to 'have' to own their own home, like it makes them some kind of under achiever if they don't........ but as a 'mortgage owner' homeowner, I was never truly happy.  I love the freedom of renting... and would NEVER go back.  I could if I wanted, but I love renting now: for the freedom above everything else, and the rent is less than my mortgage was, with ALL the repairs and maintenance done and we can stay here as long as we like.

JMHO of course....
