I use a 3 broadband dongle and it has always been great but for the last couple of days when I`ve come on sometimes it says it`s connected but I can`t get on any websites and sometimes I can get some webpages but not others .
I never close down completely during the day, just shut the lid and then when I come back on it automatically connects.
I found two days ago that if I crashed it then when I replaced the battery it seemed to have repaired itself but then it was happening more and more.  I tried system restore and for a while that seemed to work but then today it`s a nightmare. 
I`m floundering around thinking I`m helping and pretending I know what I`m doing but I`m sure I`ve made it worse today.  I did a couple of crashes which worked once then tried system restore at a couple of different points theeeeeeeeeen I decided I`d uninstall the programme for the dongle and then I could re-install it, did that but then, like an idiot, for some reason I did another system restore and now on my list of programmes it says 3G is installed but when I try to connect I keep getting a message saying system exe or something has failed.  The green light is flashing saying I`m connected but I can`t get on any webpages. 
I`m online now by clicking the connect to button on the start button and everything seems to be fine but I`m frightened to close the bluddy laptop in case I can`t get online again.
I`m a real numpty can anyone help please.  I think the reason I can`t install or uninstall 3G is because I uninstalled it which took away the shortcut etc but then before I re-installed it I did a system restore is there anything I can do.
