Am decorating my girls room and they want laminate flooring. As I dont drive and am not wanting to lay it myself, I am looking on the web at places that supply, deliver and lay. May go to Carpetright this week as they do it there. Anyone got any experiences from getting laminate flooring from there? Or any other suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks guys.

Is their bedroom upstairs? If so, you might want to reconsider.

Well i'm glad I don't live underneath you Miss!!
Laminate flooring
Carpetright are cheap enough when laying carpets so I would think it wouldn't be much different with flooring. Wooden flooring looks really nice in bedrooms even though some people hate it because it can be a bit noisier than usual.
So am I!! When my youngest daughters in full paddy mode, Im sure they think someones being murdered!! She's nearly 15, but still has a scream like a foghorn when she's having one of her wobbles! Then theres the footie; When we're watching we do get rather into it, as we do when someone we dont like goes from BB or someone we like wins BB!!! So sad!!quote:Originally posted by pussycatj:

Go for lino/vinyl tiles instead. You can get some really decent looking ones - even laminate looking if you fancy it. They are much quieter, more hard wearing and easier to keep clean. Also if one does get damaged its just one square to peel up and replace.
Some right funky ones here....

Laminate flooring is for landlords.
It's hard to lay properly and prone to looking tatty after a year or two.

I did suggest that! You know, I done my hall and kitchen with the tiles from poundland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody believed me when they saw my new floor, coz even if I say so myself, it looks dead good! And its lasted. Had to do what you said and renew one or 2 here and there, coz somethings happened, but they are brilliant. My kitchen is huge and it only cost me ÂĢ30 to put the tiles down! Am off to look at the link you kindly posted Thanks MoFo xxquote:Originally posted by MoFo:

Practical but horrible looking Missy..imo.
We all have different tastes.
I love Mofo`s link.
I wouldn't put laminate flooring anywhere. They do some really nice floorings that look like laminate but are warm and easy to keep clean.
I paid an awful lot of money for laminate flooring in my kitchen about 6 years ago ( was well expensive then) and believe me it's cack! We had a lil leak from under the dish washer and it has ruined it, it starts to seperate and float and no we couldn't claim on Insurance because my OH fitted the dish washer Really wish I had put down tiles

It's well out of fashion too and can make selling your place more difficult.

Just thought it was pushing it a bit doing a bedroom with them tho Thats why Im looking for laminate!quote:Originally posted by MoFo:HaAHaHaAH I did my bathroom with 99p shop tiles....looks bluddy ACE!!!quote:Originally posted by Little Miss Spurs:I did suggest that! My and the ex fitted some expensive laminate and special underfloor muffling stuff... because it was cheaper than replacing floorboards, sanding yadda yadda. WRONG!
I wouldn't touch laminate with a bargepole. Even if you throw money at it, it still ends up looking wrong.

Mofo,I`ve got the real old floor boards throughout my house. They look good but the kitchen is a nightmare to keep. I`m going have a proper look at that site. It looks interesting. Thanks so much
Oh wow! That is seriously impressive!quote:Originally posted by MoFo:
Mind you, this would be an ACE painted floor....
Not for those with vertigo
I wouldn't have it,carpets are cosier. Also my house rabbits wouldn't like it they need to grip with their claws. They won't go into the kitchen or bathroom because the floors are tiled.
