I want to get my legs and bikini line done for my hollybobs but I've never had it done before and am a bit of a pansy when it comes to waxing.  I do get my eyebrows done but even that makes my eyes water a bit   Does it hurt in a way that I'll end up crying like a baby and show myself up?

Does anyone use and epilator and if so are they sore to use?  I've done the hair removal creams before and they're fine but just a bit messy and time consuming.

What to do?

Don't book them both for the same appointment! Go and get your legs done and then see how you feel about the level of pain and if you can cope with getting your bikini line done Getting your legs done doesn't hurt btw, honest! I had it done a couple of times, and the only reason I don't do it regularly is the cost really, not the pain factor I used to get my eyebrows done all the time, and that would make my eyes water - more sensitive than legs?

If your pain threshhold is low and you have coarse, hairy legs then it might hurt a lot a bit.

1) Not very

2) Not very

3) Not very fine.

So....it's gonna hurt?

Even if it is sore, it won't be as bad a childbirth and you've coped with that. Think positive, Ells.

I've only had my legs professionally waxed once..    it was about a month after I'd had Ickle.

I went in all tough thinking "hey... I've just been through childbirth... how bad can it be"

I swear I nearly came out with just the one leg waxed...  and nearly punched the girl doing it many many times

I've since been told...  the girl doing it must have been really bad at doing it...  and also, it can hurt at different times in your cycle  and that as I had just had a baby I was running high on all the hormones & shit that make you more sensitive to it.

That said...   It was lovely being on me holibobs with lovely smooth legs... never a worry that I'd have to shave them

hahahaha...  I swear I hadn't read that when I did my post!!

Ells...   it isn't quite as bad as childbirth...  but then no one offers you gas & air when you are having your legs done

That's a fair point.

I was put off ever having my bikini line done professionally when my friend was telling me how she was dead impressed at how thorough the girl at her local salon was, and how impressed she was.

She went on to tell me about how after she had finished waxing her bikini line she rolled her onto her side, got her overhead light & magnifying glass out, lifted a buttock & removed and stray hairs from her bumhole area with a pair of tweezers!

I decided there & then it just wasn't for me!

I was going to mention this as it happened to me when I had waxing so have it done a few days before you go and not the day before like I did the first time

regarding the bikini wax  wear the skimpiest of your bikini bottoms and just  get waxed enough for that - if it is really skimpy then you may have to go for the full bikini wax

it is a lovely clean smooth feeling though when it is done and like childbirth the pain/discomfort soon forgotton and it does seem to stunt the hair growth for quite a while

Oh yes, my waxing woman says that She also says don't hold your breath before they rip off the strip as that makes it worse too, just keep breathing normally - sounds a bit mad and can be quite hard but it does seem to work

I think the results are well worth any pain/discomfort during the process Apparently if you wax regularly the hairs start to become thinner, not like each individual hair is thinner, but the re-growth is less or summat

Lots of different experiences here so I suppose it all depends on the person and also the beautician doing it!!

Not sure if I will get it done now.  I've just been talking to my mate who is a beautician and she said she's had it done twice and would never get it done again.  She was doing her sisters legs once and only got one leg done because her sister refused to let her do the other

Yeah, breathing out is better than holding your breath 'cos you're more relaxed.  And a couple of paracetamol prior to the appointment can often help.  Or a bottle of vino

Cosmopolitan

Never waxed, I really couldn't be doing with the necessary growth between sessions.Guess I'm lucky, 'cos I'm not v hairy and the hair there is is fair and fine, so a quick once over with a razor every few days or so  does me just fine. However, if I was dark/hairy I'd have laser hair removal, a good friend of mine had it done about 10 years ago and still no regrowth.
