Banana Cake, so easy to make I did it in GCSE Food Technology .
4oz butter or margarine
6oz sugar
8oz self raising flour
2 eggs
2 large or 3 medium, very ripe bananas
Heat the oven to gas mark 4; 180C
Grease a 2lb loaf tin.
Mash the bananas with a sturdy fork.
Cream the butter and sugar together and mix in the eggs
Mix together the two yellow sludges you now have.
Mix in the flour.
Scrape into the loaf tin and bake for 40 minutes then lower the temperature to gas mark 2; 150C and cook for a further 30 minutes.
Try to let it cool (turned out on a rack) before you devour it.

Oopsy
Never mind Kev practise makes perfect, not so much batter in the pan and by the sounds of it less PLAIN flour
Thanks Suzie.
I'm scared to buy stuff now and make it rubbish. Money and all that. Although it's good I have a dog, but don't want to kill him.

Maybe you should start with something simpler than pancakes. Like spaghetti bolognese
Hi KK!
Do you like cabbage? It's really good for you! However, if you're anything like my grandchildren the greener it is, the more they hate it!
I've found a way around this "taste bud" problem. Just disguise the flavour with a strong herb.
When my "once removed" (don't ask, it's complicated) offspring come to dinner I grab a crown of celery and shave some of the top end of it into the Savoy cabbage after I've shredded it, but before I cook it.
They'll only eat granddad's "flavoured" cabbage!
There! suricat's cabbage! Simples!
Best regards, suricat.

Wouldn't have thought of that in a million years suricat, but now you mention it I can see how they'd go together I'll be trying thatquote:Originally posted by suricat:

Suricat you're a shining star.
I usually just chew 3 times and swallow no matter the size of the bite.
Either that or cheese with everything.

I've had cheese on toast with beans on top but you take it to a gordon ramsay level, I bow down. I usually have the beans on top but I think I'll try it this way next.
Yes, everyone this is the level I can cook and will probably stay forever lol. Pity me, pray for me, even light a candle at your local Catholic church, Jesus has nothing on me, even he had a great feast though it was his last meal...I am very drunk so please laugh.
Thanks everyone for your recipe's, I'm made up you care.

Thing to remember with a steak is Kev, you can only over cook!! You can't under cook it cos it'll taste even better (if you can get round the blood!)quote:Originally posted by King Kev:quote:Originally posted by mufcdiver:

I've converted my Daughter to medium rare steak simply cos it tastes so good
Here's my lovely Curry Kev.
It doesn't use many ingredients and is pretty easy to make.
Just remember that it uses curry Paste, not curry Sauce, a big difference.
--------------
Meat Curry & Rice
Serves at least 2 people.
Ingredients.:
---------------
500g Stewing Steak, Lamb or Chicken.
2 onions medium
Small tin Tomato's
2 large peppers, red/green
4 medium closed cup Mushrooms
6 tbl spoons 'Madras Paste', or Rogan Joss or Vindaloo.
1/2 cup Coconut milk.
1.1/2 cups long grained rice, Basmati if prefered.
Preperation.
----------------
Dice the stewing steak into 40mm pices.
Peel the Onions and chop into 30mm pieces.
Empty tin of Toms into a dish and chop into pieces.
De-seed the peppers and chop into 40mm pieces.
Cut the mushrooms into 25mm pieces.
Make up the Coconut milk if using poweder or solid paste.
Main Meal Cooking.
---------------------------
Fry the meat/lamb/chicken in a little veg oil to seal the meat.
3 quarters fill a pint jug with hot water.
Add the curry paste, whichever one you prefer.
Take a large pan and add the meat & paste and water.
Add enough water to cover the meat.
Bring to the boil and turn to simmer, cover with lid.
Simmer for 80 minutes to cook the meat, less time for lamb/chicken..
(Check the meat/lamb or chicken is cooked before going on)
If using ready cooked meat/lamb or chicken, skip the 80 minutes part.
When cooked add the Onions, peppers, Mushrooms & Tomato's.
(Now jump to get the rice sorted)
Simmer the curry for about 15 minutes while the rice is cooking.
Take off the heat when the peppers are soft enough.
let it cool a minute and add the Coconut milk.
Taste the curry to see if is as you want it, add more paste of Chilli if required.
Rice Cooking
-----------------
Boil a kettle of water for the rice.
Pour 3 cups into the pan, add a pinch of salt if required.
Add the rice and bring back to the boil.
Cover and simmer for 12 minutes.
