But it wasn't just the Big Brother forum that was closed - C4 closed ALL of their fora, which had around 500,000 members overall.  I very much doubt that they would go to the trouble of opening up just one forum for one series of Big Brother.

if they want the series to  be the best yet then they should seriously consider it

If Ch4 opened tomorrow I would not go back as much as I loved it it would be a slap in the face to GaGA/LC who rescued us all from there when they closed down,this is a much better forum  with more choices and is open 24/7 I hope this year GaGa put BB on a page of its own in the reality page,as I feel newcommers were put off with BB on here, as we could  talk about whatever and BB that was all on this front page, as most people would rather just see threads  just about BB and there were very few of them on here mainly one thread  it is only my opinion...

But I haven't seen anything to make me think this will be the best series of Big Brother.  I think every series has got much worse since BB3, and the last 3 or 4 years have been almost unwatchable with the horrendous housemates who have been chosen.  Whilst it might have been a good forum for the dwindling number of Big Brother fans to post on,I really don't think that the Channel 4 Big Brother forum has had any impact on the series over the years!

I seem to remember reading that Channel 4 closed down its forum due to having to cut back on costs. Don't forget that because of the worst recession since the 1920s, television companies have had to cut back, and I suspect that over the next year or so we will see major changes in whether the existing channels remain as they are at present. I think that only BBC1 and BBC2 are reasonably secure, but will have budget cuts (I think the budget for Dr Who for instance has already been reduced). The BBC has already announced that it is cutting back on the quantity of foums it currently has.

So, without wishing to seem possimistic, we have to be realistic and accept that there is no chance of Channel 4 bringing back a Big Brother forum. That is unless enough people indicate that they are willing to join a forum with a membership fee.

All I really wanted was to try and get the old feel back to the forums.

It will never happen, not enough people.C4 was only worth a fart during bb anyway when people joined just for big brother.

I don't understand why people want to be part of a bigger forum.  I only used to like the main C4 BB forum when Big Brother wasn't on - as soon as the series started, it just filled up with trolls and crazypeople and a lot of the regular posters had to retreat to Off Topic to avoid the loonies.  Surely it's nicer to post on a smaller forum where you get to know people better?

Thats not very nice.

The loonies as you like to call them kept the place alive for the duration of big brother filling the forum with interesting discussions and some funny topics. There was enough room on the off topic forum for such gems like "what is your favourite biscuit" or "gloss v paint" threads.

It was after all a BIG BROTHER FORUM!

Last years forum was a joke where topics were cleared out each day except for so called "Hot Topics"

Lack of live feed is what spoils BB for me. And Live feed also kept the forum alive.

CH4 forums crashed half the time and lagged the other half, all the way through Big Brother.  Oh and don't get me started on it being a 16+ forum, but being closed at midnight, and the trigger happy nazi admin.
