Just not slept since 3:15. No idea why. Not tired, not sleeping!

Thankfully I have quite a physical job today. I can't imagine sitting at my desk all day.

Must remember to have coffee on way to work.

Aww so sorry EC    that sounds horrible.  Early morning waking could be a sign of stress?  Y'know, when your mind won't shut down + your body runs on nervous energy.

Mental fatigue makes it impossible to function, poor you going through a working day. It'll probably hit you later on

At least you have physical tasks today, like you say.

Hope you get a good sleep tonight! xx

Thats exactly right. I got prescribed zopiclone - but strictly short term - for the reasons mentioned.

The doc later prescribed me phenergan for [stress related] insomnia  - an o.t.c. antihistamine/ travel sickness medication which is surprisingly effective . Some peeps say it doesn't work for them though. I take phenergan about 6pm, an hour before my dinner, cos the later you take it the later you may feel drowsy next morning. Takes about four hours to kick in but its different for different people.

Not sleeping is awful though. Poor E.C.

You may be right. I had received news that following a massive restructure at work I was now on 90 days notice of redundancy. It sounds bad, but we have only ever lost three people through redundancy, most like me once placed on the redeployment register find alternative work, so it's not all bad.

In fact, next week I have a meeting about a new job, so fingers crossed I get it.

Not quite sure why that happened the other night, I can usually sleep through. The funny thing was that once up I was not tired. I did flag through the day and came home and went to bed early the next day (hence I've not been on the forum since then).

Thanks for the message Roger (still want to say Nosey or Rosie ).

Thanks Saint. everything back to normal now. I had 9 hours last night. Woke to a very bright bedroom, the sun shining through my window. Most pleasant.

He He thanks - it's growing on me.

How many characters do I have to play with?

Would it fit?

I guess most would shorten it to "AHEGPBtRFtCotU"

I think the maximum number of characters including spaces is 40.

Huge Pulsating Brain - Ultraworld Ruler

That's probably the closest you can get to and stay within 40 characters.

I hope things work out on the job front.

It is a bit of a mouthful as a username. I do like it though. Will stick with EC though. Thanks on the job front.

Zopliclone...    yeah they are good (they have been a godsend for me Mum)...   I've had them in the past too..

problem is..  some of us get what is known as Zopi-gob the next day..   basically you have the worst taste ever in your mouth...  nothing will get rid of it, every time you breath through your mouth you get strong waves of it..   its bloody horrible!    Thankfully, Mam has never had Zopi-gob..     probably not a bad thing I do get Zopi-gob..   or I'd have been on her Zopi's   (I do love me a sleeping tablet )

When I absolutely need sleepers now I use the OTC anti-histamine ones too.   They're pretty good for short term use.

Thanks for all the best wishes regarding my impending redeployment meeting. I thought I would do a quick update before I nip off to do chores.

To recap I was given 90 days notice that I was at risk of being made unemployed. This week I attended a meeting in relation to a post I could get redeployed into.

The meeting went very well, it was more of an extended chat between me, HR and the representative from the department concerned. From the first few minutes I realised that this was more of a meeting where they were telling me what my responsibilities would be, what training I would need and the types of activities I would undertake.

So the upshot is I have just got to go through vetting (which I will pass with flying colours as I don't have any skeleton's in the closet).

I need to be vetted thoroughly because of the work I will be performing.

I'm quite pleased to say that shortly I should be starting my new role within the organisation.

Some other positives are, it's closer to home (I can now walk to work) and it's exactly the same salary. Also the team has been together for sometime and they sound like a good bunch.

Again, thanks for the support everyone

P.S. It would seem that as EFFT points out I have to buy the Shandy's !!!
