I just voted.

BUT, in my defence.  The only reason they went up in November was because Mr Cinds was doing some work on the loft hatch and I said you might as well lift the decs down while you're up there.  Then when I saw everything lying around, I thought I might as well put them up so he could put all the boxes back up in the attic while he was up there, honest.

Cinds

Ours are going up next weekend ... hubby is currently painting the hall, stairs and landing so we are in a bit of a mess atm.

Just thought - I'd better get to to get them out of the loft before he paints the loft hatch!!

I wasn't going to bother until about a week before The Day, but some people (and they know who they are ) got everything out of the lofts and dumped the boxes in the lounge today.

So it looks like it's imminent at Cosmo Towers...

But they have to be sat in the middle of the lounge for a while until you "Get around to it"

Normally go up a week or so before Christmas and come down on 2nd Jan.

When the kids were small we used to put them up on the first weekend in December as it added to the excitement

I remember one year ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,when it had all been a bit manic - I didn't put up my tree until Christmas Eve - my oldest bubby was two - when he work up in the morning to stocking in bed and then came downstairs to a sparkling tree and a pile of pressies - I swear it was truly magical. I think kids are wound up far too early before the big day TBH - 'keep it short - make it magical',

I agree, Christmas used to be about Children, which the adults enjoyed through their eyes, the adults enjoyed Christmas for the children and New Year was for them.

Yes .............that's how I think it should be!

I remember making up a Lego fire engine and a police station late one Christmas Eve.

I think I got up before I went to bed that night!

Never buy little 3 year olds large Lego stuff unless you're free of kitchen duties on the big day.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww - I remember my sister building a Barbie House for her daughter one Christmas Eve  while her husband was at the pub. He came in drunk - fell over and broke it to pieces - I'd have killed him if it had been me!
