The first images taken by Juno are starting to come through. They have yet to be properly processed but the best of the raw data images so far seems to be:

Is it believed to be a dust storm?
Isn't that disputed as there is no atmosphere on that planet
... which should be renamed Janet
The planet Janet - excellent
Saint, scientists think that the sun's radiation may be reacting with ammonium hydrosulfide in the outer atmosphere making it red.
Imagine the power of that - bigger than Earth apparently

NASA posted this image to show that:
Is it a storm then? Raging?
Yes, it's the most lurid atmospheric storm in the atmosphere arranging gases in a distinct interaction that creates a red shade . As Jupiter has no land or seas the outer atmosphere just carries on with the fairly consistent temperature and atmospheric composition unlike there would be on Earth, with mountains, sea, lowlands, highlands causing fluctuations in temperature and atmospheric composition - plus Jupiter receives so much less energy from the sun that the temperature and chemical fluctuations are much more muted.
So where does the energy come from to create such intense movement?
Saint, the red spot is a mystery to scientists but it's thought that as there is no solid ground which would cause a storm to slow down, once it starts there's nothing much to slow it down.
Thank you El Rolo
Fascinating

The planet has a lot of internal heat and a very strong magnetic field. Its core is very hot due to extreme pressure and well beyond the temperature of the Earth's core.
Has anyone put forward a theory of what space actually is and what night be beyond space?
While yer on ... is there a God?
Saint, some wiki artcles:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space and
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shape_of_the_universe
Just don't expect me to explain those articles
And God must exist otherwise there could be no saints as if God did not exist, you wouldn't.

I'm Saint therefore I am !!

yes, there's bucket loads of theories on the universe and its origins. IMO, if you put every new born in an isolated room and taught them a language so they could articulate their thoughts and told them about the world, every single one of them would come up with different creation myth.
