Once AGAIN, the most unfunny, over-rated, overpaid man on television causes offence, and think it's funny and clever to 'jokingly' say 'people who find out their kids are gay, should put them up for adoption.' He said:

"If your son asks for a Hannah Montana MP3 player, you might want to think about putting him down for adoption before he brings his...erm...partner home."

Why on earth this man is still employed at the BBC, on an astronimocal salary that runs into multiple millions, just astounds me. He is rude, unfunny, and offensive. Can someone tell me why he is still on tv at ALL, let alone being paid so much?!

Believe me I get really irate at real homophobia ........my son is gay and I have had some major ding dongs in challenging some peoples attitudes ..................i just find that quite funny.
I really really don't. Then again, I don't find ANYthing Jonathan Ross says funny. He is the most over-rated man on tv IMO.

Must admit: I find it hard to comprehend how someone with a gay son could find his comments funny. Disappointed

Well said spongebob; yes he DOES believe his own hype... there are a few on tv like him; James Cordon is another one, and Russell Brand: both nowhere near as funny as they think they are IMO. Shake Head

I have always resented his position as one of the highest paid on the Beeb... I think he's crap at interviewing (he seems to love the sound of his own voice too much to listen to his guests).

I don't mind dodgy humour... un-pc comedy... there are people that can get away with a bit of risky banter cos they are genuinely funny... for me, he ain't one of them!

I so wish we could opt out of the tv license, and the bbc... and even better give a reason for doing so... cos Jonathon Ross & the sanctamonious Sian from BBC breakfast would be my reasons for doing so!

It was only a matter of time before someone mentioned Russell. I disagree, imo Russell IS funny.... and its yet another reason why JR is top of my "get im off" list. Big Grin

To be honest DPT, I don't actually dislike Russell Brand and he was quite funny on Big brother's big mouth, but his show he had on his own, (can't remember what it was called,) made me sit there like this.... Disappointed It was just 'not funny at all,' IMO.

I think he is OK, but not as funny as he is made out to be and not as funny as he thinks he is. I really dislike Jonathan Ross though and NEVER find him funny!

I think political correctness has gone mad, but I am sick of this over-rated, over-paid man saying rude and offensive things, and continually getting away with it, and passing it off as 'humour.'

My friend who lives 5 doors away has a 21 year old gay son who was bullied horrendously at school, and both she AND her son were offended by his remarks.

Some may have thought the remarks to be 'funny,' but others did not. I think people are entitled to not find Jonathan Ross - and his comments funny. I certainly am in the category of people who find him rude and unfunny.

I don't find anything funny that comes out of his mouth to be honest Cheeky, I think common sense is well used to ignore the idiots attempt at comedy. The sooner BBC realises that he's a overpaid, over-rated and taking cheap shots at people in the name of comedy is as unfunny as toothache the better.

Well said. Clapping

Ross continually thinks being rude and making edgy offensive remarks is funny. I beg to differ. Shake Head

its really funny seeing as he has gay family members and has for 4 years been voted the most gay friendly celeb by several gay mags ! it makes me wonder how many gay people complained and how many band wagon jumping hypocritical PC people complained ?

ofcom are also not saying how many people have complained! which leads me to believe that there was not that many to start with, but give it 2 weeks and 50,000 people who never heard the show will have complained.

i doubt very much that dross is homophobic, my gripe is that he an arrogant, talentless, overpaid, arse licking or bullying(depending on his guest) little shit that ever became famous. His wages are paid partly by me by a tv licence and if i dont pay it i get taken to court and fined and if i dont pay the fine, baillifs will be sent to my house to remove my possesions......seeing this is the case, this gives me the absolute right to complain about dross, whenever i like, about whatever he said or did, anytime i like, whether or not i heard him , saw him or smelt him at that time or any other bloody time..............rant over, anyone for tea and cucumber sandwiches.....

I agree with you both.

I don't find JR at all funny and it's annoying how much he is being paid out of our licence fees. The man simply isn't worth it.

He is a comedien and he isnt like that atall, why does he always come under fire for having a joke, he isnt anti gay he has all respect for gays, you could tell that when he had his interview with will young.

He should dump the BBC and go elsewhere! I'm sure he didnt mean 'put them up for adoption' literally Roll Eyes

I haven't seen it but comments like that to me, a closet friend of Dorothy, just make me sigh rather than get worked up. In context, I think there's a place for it but cheap shots are well past their time.

I always think: ayup, get ready for an exasperated, very un-PC comment or two.
