From what I'm hearing, it doesn't seem like petulance to me just a sort of resignation that the FA are not prepared to settle with the decision of the law courts.

The hearing starts tomorrow, so he leaves it until tonight. He's had all the dice fall his way, maybe not any longer.

I think the FA don't need as strong evidence as courts. He was only let off because he couldn't be proved guilty, rather than innocent.

Do you think he was guilty then Cologne?

Maybe he couldn't be proved guilty because he wasn't!

BTW, I don't really know enough about it to have an opinion one way or the other,

I think he was guilty. I don't think he is a racist per se, but I think he used racially abusive language. As it's word against word, I doubt we'll ever know, plus I'm slightly biased by my antipathy of him and all he does (not just his private life). I just don't think he has any integrity.

Why? Do you think he might be weary of the FA not clearing him and so he decides to jump before he's pushed? If so, I have no sympathy for him anyway. If he really was the gladiator and warrior he was described as lately, he'd face the FA and let them do their worst.

I've heard loads of chatter about it (mediawise and my in-house pundits and football statisticians).....my 2 older sons are massive Chelsea fans and they can't stand him and think he probably was guilty of stepping over that line with Anton Ferdinand. They also think that Rio should have zipped it after the court case instead of attacking Ashley Cole on twitter and calling him a choc ice (made me giggle though). Twitter is dangerous for footballers and their WAGs.

I wont miss him from the England set up. England could do with a major root and branch shake up anyway, starting at Lancaster Gate.
