I hate the thought that some child is wishing their life away waiting for Christmas while their parents are sighing and slapping down their knees etc.

I know the little lad redeemed himself at the end, but I really didn't like it.

Now,  the John Lewis ad last year with the woman in the red dress - that was a classic

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! Eileen! - I've only just logged on here ............was reading through thinking 'I'm gonna post that I love the Morrisons ad' and then I saw 'Holidays are coming, holidays are coming' amd I went all a bit peculiar .................I know it's Christmas when I see that ad!

The Morrisons one with Freddie Flintoff in it? I like that one as well...more to the point, .I like Freddie in that one.

 I cried at the advert - if companies are going to hit us with "the joy is in giving" messages I'd rather see it like that than what Littlewoods are putting out there ......THAT really is crass ......and actually it makes me quite angry at how manipulative it is; given that their target market is people on a tight budget anyway  

That's the power of advertising though Hoochie, the cynic (sp) in me says people are gullible and advertising companies know that
