A nephew of Jimmy Savile has told Sky News that he supports calls to have his uncle's body exhumed.

 

Guy Marsden, son of Savile's sister Marjorie, said he believes other members of the family would agree that he should be moved from Scarborough's Woodlands Cemetery and cremated to spare the anguish of other families.

 

Several families of people buried in the council-owned cemetery say they don't want his body to remain in its prime position above all the other graves at the top of the hill

 

Scarborough Borough councillor Colin Haddington said he hopes the body will be moved and had been asked to take action by the family of a baby buried near Savile.

I hope they keep him in storage or have samples taken from him before they burn him..Did'nt his family refuse DNA testing from him..I still don't trust his family...

Not sure what to make of this. Perhaps saVile kept his depraved lifestyle from some, yet from what I've seen/read he seemed incapable of doing so and to the contary seemed very brazen about it. 

Comrade O, I think it was on HIGNFY they mentioned the brazenness of him by joking he was an abuser he hid that he was an actual abuser, smoking mirrors was the term they used.

I think Kiwi Wendy (the last comment on this) summed it up for me that surely MI5 must have looked into his background to allow him so close to Prince Charles????  So the secret service must have known what he was like surely? 

This has turned into a media circus now. I use the word circus because there are so many conspiracy theories, celebrities jumping on the bandwagon, hate sites, spoof pictures etc etc etc it's gonna be hard for anyone to estabish the truth. It takes away from the people who are the real victims in all this. Lots of people posting/reporting things and wasting police time. Don't get me wrong....if other high profile people are involved then they should be brought to justice but how is that gonna happen when every Tom, Dick and Harry is getting accused/mentioned and when a celebrity is put in the frame people jump up and go "I KNEW IT!!!".

 

I know we all love reading about it and debating it but maybe there should be a media blockage on it for a while until they sort the genuine people from the time wasters.

I'm not saying he was innocent.  I wish I could remember where I had read it, but it was along the lines of they knew he had done some of the attacks but he took the fall for the murders.  

 

I'm not saying it's right or wrong.  He was a disgusting pig.

Cagney it's just awful the whole mess, but what can't be taken away is that he was doing it, others were doing it with him, and children were abused.  I honestly wish it would go away from the media so those needing too can do their jobs and sort the whole sorry mess out.  Most of all, give the children who were used and abused justice. (more than ever I feel that, after listening to the guy who spoke on Radio 2 yesterday)

I agree Cinds. I just don't know if it's right people going to the media when they should be going to the police. People saying now that they always knew. Those people should be charged too. I don't click on the links on here anymore because a lot of them are hate filled on the basis of politics or position and contain very little facts. Lots of hearsay and secretly naming and shaming without naming....if you know what I mean? The page posted with all the politicians.....nah I'm not believing that. Post that on a page that hates polititians AND paedophiles and hey presto....it must be true!!!! I still say let the police deal with it...not the media.

That wasn't what I was saying.  I said I had read years ago that for whatever reason Peter Sutcliffe took the wrap for the murders but admitted the attacks on the women that did survive, the reason being it was too ugly for people to understand.  

 

I just poked that in to this thread in light of the link that was posted earlier saying JS had been questioned about the ripper murders.

Dave (Duffy) is doing great. He's at this moment sleeping beside my cat...legs akimbo and she's curled round him.

But it is the whole 'media circus' that's encouraging people to speak - that guy on radio 2 hadn't spoken about it ever before - it was hearing Stephen Meesham (sp) that prompted him to speak out. I don't know if it's a good thing raking it up or not but maybe that guy (Billy) feels a weight has been lifted - maybe he'll get help.

 

And a bigger maybe - if enough people feel prompted to come forward the bad guys will get done at last.

 

Who knows - I do know that I and a lot of people was pretty much blissfully ignorant that stuff like this went on - we should be made aware IMO.

 

I agree that there are a lot of ppl out there who should be brought to book for (even vaguely) knowing and not speaking up. Welsh politicians, the police, solical workers. 5live spoke to 2 ppl yesterday connected to the report a few years ago and both feebly answered that they'd done all they could and blatantly didn't.

I think David Cameron said the right thing.. .  if you have any evidence, give it to the police investigating this mess..  that's what they are they for, it's only his job to make sure it IS being investigated not to investigate it himself. . he's not an expert neither are any of these other armchair people.. tho if they come across stuff it is their duty to pass it on to the proper authorities..   

He did mention Tom Watson too didn't he. I didn't see the names on screen Soozy but how slippery did Cameron come across? He was as you said talking at the speed of light to the point he was rude to Holly 'saying 2 seconds' so he could finish his well rehearsed shpeel!

Indeed that is what the Police are for but it seems to have done precious little in the past (missing photos, statements etc.) Of course people should go to the Police but getting it into the public eye as well is like insurance. I'm not in the least surprised that many of the victims are sceptical about going to the police when you consider the cover ups from the past.

 

I'm not in favour of trial by media at all but .........this is kind of like 'insurance' IMO.

yes I understand they were afraid to come forward when it all happened but now it is out there and people know, the cops really can't hide anything cos the victims know there is protection in numbers and those that report now can go public if ignored or nothing is done..

 

I agree with what Cagney has said up there ^^^ about the media circus and bandwagon jumping on, some for purposes that may not actually be connected to the actual real crimes and dilutes the victims cases cos of that. . tis pretty much what I was trying to say the other day..

I'm surprised at Cameron's comments about a witch hunt against gay people. I don't think anyone had linked gay people with paedophiles. Disgraceful.

Joe, Philip Scofield handed the PM a list of the 'high up' names being circulated online that are being connected with the pedophile ring again and again, his gay comments were just after that if i remember correctly.
