Loved the film and liked Jim's character in the film.

Having read more about him he had other sporting strings to his bow.

He was an American Football player

And a professional Tennis player and later coach.

He seemed quite happy about the small number of films he made too, indicating he got a lot of offers, but did not like the scripts. Wish more actors would adopt that approach.
