Not exactly a new claim, though, is it? The theory that she was assassinated by a Serb group has been around since day one, because she had fronted an appeal for aid for Kosovan Albanian refugees. From Wiki:

"At Barry George's first trial his defence barrister, Michael Mansfield QC, quoted from a National Criminal Intelligence Service report which stated that the Serbian warlord leader, Arkan, had ordered her assassination in retaliation for the bombing of a television station in Belgrade by NATO on 23 April 1999, which had resulted in the deaths of several well-known Yugoslav TV presenters."

Maybe I'm just being overly cynical, but I have to wonder why this is being repeated now...

As competition for the new Sun production? - that's what sprung to my mind. I do think I've read all this before TBH.
