Well, I suppose we could say that about a large percentage of threads on the forum. I posted this because from experience there are a number of contributors who seem to enjoy this kind of news and also that she is local girl and seems to be popular with many people.

I have a good friend who has know her long before she gained fame through athletics and he only has good things to say about her. I stress I don't know her.

Now I have noticed of late that there appears to be a lot of political discussion and comment involving nationality or customs there in. I don't have a very high opinion of politicians in general - non of them. I try where possible to avoid these types of threads as for me GGJJ is about having a bit of fun and trying not to get embroiled in serious discussions too deeply. I do have strong opinions and it is difficulty to hold back sometimes.

This is not one of those threads, it's just a bit of light news. I would be more than happy for you to open a new thread having a good old discussion on the Olympics and the athletes and the honours system.

My thoughts too, although I would have said whipped cream rather than meringue

Whipped cream is probably nearer to the mark.

I'll go Eton Mess!

Mess is right.  Nice bodice, but that's it.
