I didn't know that he played Danny in grease on stage before the movie was made, I read that they weren't sure whether to go with him or travolta, then travolta was the bigger star when the time came..
He did a great job playing kenickie though!

He was also supposed to sing Grease Lightening but they gave that to Travolta as well.

Awww, I did like JT as Danny, but thought Jeff as Kenickie was brilliant... but his career never quite took off the same as JT's did. Shame...

I didn't realise there was a stage version before the movie... he must have been gutted not to get the main part in the film but he played a great character
Sad to hear he's gone.
(When I went to see Grease on stage many moons ago it was "starring" Luke Goss
