Damage is already done, I'm afraid. Foul, stinking, muckracking trash that does real journalism a terrible disservice.

I know we have freedom of speech and am thankful of that. It means I can say she's talking bollox from beyond the stone age and she should be sent back there.
I can't believe this bit!
"Another real sadness about Gately's death is that it strikes another blow to the happy-ever-after myth of civil partnerships.
Gay activists are always calling for tolerance and understanding about same-sex relationships, arguing that they are just the same as heterosexual marriages. Not everyone, they say, is like George Michael.
Of course, in many cases this may be true. Yet the recent death of Kevin McGee, the former husband of Little Britain star Matt Lucas, and now the dubious events of Gately's last night raise troubling questions about what happened."
What exactly is she saying? That those two deaths make for a case against same sex marriage? Would anyone like to hazard a guess to how many heterosexual marriages end in tragedy? I can name one from my small family alone. This is the second time the Daily Mail has wound me up tonight and I've only been online for ten minutes. I hate that paper!
I'm now amusing myself with the spoof comment generator but they are all too depressingly realistic.
I think I'm going to boycott all Daily Mail links from now on.

So we either didn't read it properly, or we're part of a "clearly orchestrated" conspiracy against her
No Jan, ALL people who aren't galloping bigots.
I just read the artice and I don't really think it was homphobic - in bad taste yes but not really homophobic!! From reading it the impression I was getting was that she was saying his death had something to do with his night out before!!
I think her timing of the article is wrong and she should wait to find out the real reason for his death before making such assumptions - I do think though that the article has been blown out of all proportion!!
"I gather a repulsive nobody writing in a paper no one of any decency would be seen dead with has written something loathsome and inhumane."
So Jan Moir needs 2 attempts to say what she means does she? Some journalist.
She is now squirming. What a nasty piece of work that article is.
I think it's hilarious! The situation, I mean.
You just know the woman's probably a girly liberal and an avid fan of Shami Chakrabarti, really; she's just writing for her readership. It's like the Sun writers and editors: you'd be forgiven for thinking they're morons who can only write simple sentences and one or two sentence paragraphs but they're probably capable of writing prose like Dostoevsky in their spare time.
Love it
Actually, despite it being another rabid rag, it's well known in the industry that the Sun has some of the sharpest writing and punchiest headlines in the business.
What a nasty piece of work Jan Moir is, absolutely despicable. Rest in peace Stephen
also when Moir said people complaining hadn't read her article properly and that most of them are of the gay community..was she suggesting that gay people are thick?
"Now look- donât get me wrong. I have nothing against Jan Moirâs weird face. Some of my best friends are Jan Moirâs weird face, although I wouldnât let it adopt children as they might be bullied. But let us be absolutely clear about this. Normal faces donât wake up in the morning looking like that. Whatever happened between Jan Moir and her weird face is anyoneâs guess. But it strikes a blow against the happy-ever-after myth of loathsome gutter journalism spewed by people with weird faces.â
Interestingly, they had a debate on the Wright Stuff a few days ago asking if the coverage of this young lads death was homophobic. I missed most of the debate but they were citing some of the stuff that had been written in various rags and the tone was definitely homophobic
my mum always used to say "you can't polish a poo"

She has her very own personal complaint link on the PCC website now.
Jan now says that she cannot possibly be homophobic because her son is gay.............
