Day 1: An off the (hand)cuff twist recap...

Incarceration, a whimsical warden, and a severe lack of breakfast cereal options are the hardships all housemates must expect.

What the housemates couldn't have expected is to be separated into pairs and then bound together with a very glamorous set of handcuffs. This twist forced all twelve of our shiny and new guests to confront sharing even the most intimate details of their life with a stranger.

Most concern, naturally, focused around how 'events' in the bathroom might be catered for - although concern about your partner's spontaneous desire to breakdance will soon overtake that.

Of course, Big Brother has an insatiable urge for twists and dished another out, asking the first couple Jinda (Jim & Linda) to pick a couple to release from their bondage.

Somewhat surprisingly they chose to unbind Lappy (Dappy & Liz), which Big Brother immediately announced made them eligible for the first eviction. But they won't be alone, as two more couples will be joining them for the first cull?

But who could it be?

Linda and Jim are still eligible to face the boot but there are four other possible pairings - Jam (Jasmine & Sam), Lasey (Lee and Casey), Lollie (Lionel and Ollie) and Levander (Luisa and Evander).

And you, the Big Brother loving public can influence how the next part of the tethering task plays out. Get involved with our poll and the results will influence what happens in the House.

We're also asking for you to tweet us your no holds barred opinion on our celebs. Use the hashtag  #CBBpoll and your words could become part of the task.

There's no time like the present, if you want to make a real difference to CBB 2014, act now.

Day 1 round-up: The House is stuffed with talent

People – we have a series on our hands. Twelve brand new housemates entered the House yesterday evening. Some of them settled rumours whilst others may have come as something of a surprise. It's a right mixed bag and it all began when Jim Davidson rolled up to the door.

Expecting to hot foot it indoors, BB laid on a twist. Jim wouldn't be wandering in alone – he was immediately shackled to Linda Nolan â€“ a Nolan Sister no less – kicking off a chain of handcuffed celebrity duos.

Next in was Dappy of N-Dubz fame and he was fastened to Liz Jones â€“ the outspoken journalist who makes a living ruffling feathers. Sam Faiers â€“ she of TOWIE fame – was up next. Our Essex siren was attached to Jasmine Waltz, the tabloid favourite from across the pond.

It's traditional for at least one Page 3 girl to grace the BB carpet and this time we saw Casey Batchelor enter the House. The buxom beauty was cuffed to Blue favourite Lee Ryan. To be fair, neither of them looked too disturbed to be chained together.

Ollie Locke was our next contender. The Made In Chelsea star found himself shackled withLionel Blair â€“ who needs no introduction. Looking a bit like a before and after version of each other, they quickly became firm pals.

Finally, Apprentice runner up and cake-making entrepreneur Luisa Zissman was tied toEvander Holyfield, the world famous boxer probably best known for having his ear chomped by Tyson.

Our new pals settled in. Lionel declared himself the daddyLiz showed off her tattoo and Sam bonded fast with Jasmine. But soon Jim and Linda (Jinda) were called to the Diary Room by Big Brother who called on them to untie two of their pals (or themselves if they fancied it). They opted to free up Liz and Dappy (Lappy). A decision which upset that Dappycharacter a little bit.

And that was our 12! A mixed bag and no mistake. Keep watching to see how these forced friendships develop. Nothing can possibly go wrong.

Day 2: The housemates settle in

What better way to spend your first (full) day in the Big Brother House, than to be tied to a stranger with a pair of blingy gold handcuffs. Good job Big Brother, you really know how to make guests feel welcome.

So far the housemates seem to be coping okay with their shackles. Jim waited patiently while Linda applied her slap. Evander obediently stood beside Luisa while she baked some very tasty looking bread. And Sam and Jasmine skilfully mastered the art of showering when confined to a piece of string – brownie points to them for being the only couple to attempt washing.

Funnily enough Liz has been beside Dappy all morning even though they've been freed from constraint. And a special mention has to be given to Lee and Casey who've been getting on very well. Very well indeed - we'll be keeping an eye on those two.

1.11pm: Casey is patiently waiting for Lee while he showers.

1.27pm: Lionel, Ollie, Jim, Linda & Liz are talking about tech. Do you also think that handheld tablets were sent from the future?

1.48pm: The HMs are in the bedroom, talking about times when they've been really really hungry. They're divided 50/50 on haggis.

2.02pm: The HMs are discussing their favourite TV shows. No one has said Big Brother yet. Um, we're RIGHT HERE, guys.

2.17pm: Evander is talking about his boxing career. The housemates are gripped... and so are we.

2.31pm: The housemates are discussing their favourite way to eat carrots. Seriously.

3.08pm: Here's the details of today's task:

Day 2: Task - Building Blocks of Celebrity

This afternoon the housemates are facing their first challenge, and it’s a doozy. In their handcuffed pairs, Jinda, Lappy, Jam, Lasey, Lollie and Levander will be faced with the Building Blocks of Celebrity – big colourful blocks that each represent traits that contribute towards celebrity status. You know the sort of thing: Talent; Celebrity Relationships; Cosmetic Surgery; Money Problems, etc, etc.

In turn, each celebrity must choose a block that applies to them, or their partner, and place it on a tower that represents the level of their fame. They must then justify their choice by sharing a relevant story from their career. If Big Brother isn’t happy with the explanation, the housemate will be asked to elaborate further, and if that still doesn’t cut it, they’ll have to remove the block from the tower. At the end, the pair with the highest tower will be declared victorious.

Whoever wins will be awarded the key to their handcuffs and gain immunity from the first eviction, so it’s all to play for! Even though Dappy and Liz have already been granted immunity, they’ll still have to take part; if they win, they can grant immunity to whomever they choose.

Surely that`s an error. Dappy and Liz are up for eviction.
