One of the Celebrity Big Brother 2014 finalists will be kicked out in a secret eviction on Sunday night.

This evening saw Linda Nolan voted out of Celebrity Big Brother 2014 leaving seven remaining celebrity contestants.

After chatting to Linda, Big Brother host Emma spoke to the house to announce that Jim Davidson, Lee Ryan, Luisa Zissman, Sam Faiers, Dappy, Ollie Locke and Casey Batchelor had all made the final.

However that the housemates don’t know is that one of them will get the boot in a special one-off live show on Sunday night.

Lines have now opened for us viewers to vote a winner and will freeze during Sunday night’s show and the one housemate with the fewest votes to that point will get the axe in a surprise eviction.

Going into the final few days, comic Jim is the odds-on favourite to win the show with the bookies.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The support for Jim is unprecedented considering he started the show as a 50/1 outsider. He’s clearly won over the public and they’re putting their money where their mouth is.”

Day 22: Life after Linda

The dust had barely settled on Linda's exit before some of the housemates were trying to work out why she had been evicted.

Dappy appeared to be taking her departure hardest, bemoaning the loss of 'Mama Lin'.  He and Lee talked the situation through as they made their beds.

Dappy said, "Obviously we all looked up to Mama Lin as a mother figure but everyone loves Jim. If you go against the public love then... "

Ah yes, Jim. Could their relationship have been a factor in Linda's departure?

Lee thought it was more than just the Nolan and the comedian's constant tiffs.

"It's not even that Daps," he said. "She was harsh. She didn't let it go."

Would you have told her that to her face Lee?

Dappy was coming round to the idea but still leapt to Linda's defence, "He was harsh on her too," he argued. "But I did watch him try."

It's a tricky one. Jim did offer to make Linda dinner tonight. But was it just for the cameras as Linda suggested on many previous occasions.

Sam seemed to think it could have been her downfall, "Him trying. That was what Linda didn't see," she observed.

With Linda gone, even Luisa is bonding with Jim but this is Big Brother and we never can be sure who is playing a game. Could she be learning from what may have been Linda's big mistake, going against one of the housemates the public have continued to save?

Dappy had one last observation to make, stating "This House has taught me so much." And us too Dappy.

With five more days to go, there is plenty of time to learn more lessons but who will be top of the class. We'll have to wait and see.

Day 22: Round up - Farewell Linda

Having decided that the housemates have been out of the loop with current trends for far too long today's challenge was as zeitgeist-savvy as they come. It was time for selfies!

With a camera set up in the living room, the housemates were called throughout the day to pose for a picture, which led to Dappy posing with two hot backing singers (Jim and Liz) and Lee and Casey getting ready for the beach.

The next task involved the housemates getting up close and personal with the House's newly ordained agony uncle - Jim Davidson! Linda and Luisa refused (though Luisa eventually relented) to join Jim in the treehouse for a heart-to-heart, and so Linda wasn't allowed to share everyone's sushi dinner.

Which was particularly unfortunate as, when it was time for the public vote to decide on the next housemate to be evicted, it was Linda whose number was up. After a glamorous departure and a fiery exit interview, the House settled down to a night of drinking, reconciliation and merriment - spurred on no doubt by finding out that they'd made it to the final. Jim did a bit of real talk before getting silly with Dappy over soup, and Lee finally opened up to Casey about how he really feels about Jasmine.

Of course, their celebration is bitter sweet - one of them will be removed in a surprise eviction on Sunday. But who? You'll have to stay tuned to find out.

Things are really hotting up in the CBB House as we get closer to Wednesday’s final.

After becoming the fifth celebrity to leave, Linda Nolan will join our three musketeers – Rylan Clark, Iain Lee and Carol McGiffin - to discuss a very eventful few weeks in the House.

But that’s not all! We also have psychotherapist Rachel Morris and performance coach Kate Marlow. Whatever will they make of Linda’s CBB experience?

There’s only one way to find out, and it’s by tuning in to Channel 5 at 10.30pm – see you there!

Day 23: Waking up happy!

What a difference a day makes. Just yesterday, Jim admitted that he was struggling. "I feel as sad as I’ve ever felt in my life" he said, possibly exaggerating. But today he woke up with a big smile on his face. Whatever could have happened? Oh yes, we know. Linda has gone and we don’t think he’s missing her all that much.

It wasn’t just Jim either. Dappy had enjoyed a few more drinks than normal last night, so he’d be forgiven for being a touch grumpy this morning. Not on your life. He woke up, did a big thumps up, jumped into bed with Luisa, had a cuddle, then went for breakfast with Jim. Looking for Linda? Not today.

Casey and Luisa were also all smiles, and Ollie was quick to note the change in atmosphere. He’d nominated Jim, of course, but he had made it clear he just thought the House would be a happier place without Jim and Linda’s constant needle. It’s Linda who has gone, not Jim, but the effect has been the same. Luisa bounced out of bed too, unperturbed by a rude dream about her and Liz (!) and Casey also woke up with a big smile on her face. Even Sam, arguably Linda’s closest friend in the House, was chirpier than normal this morning.

Obviously, it’s not fair to suggest this is all because of Linda. The housemates were equally buoyed by Emma telling them they’re all in the final, even if that isn’t actually true. However, the fact remains that the House has a nice, chirpy feel to it this morning. Can it last another five days though? Let's hope so...

Day 23 task: For whom the bell tolls

Big Brother has set the housemates a two-day task, with sensational rewards but also terrible punishments lined up.

A giant grandfather clock has been positioned in the living area, and this will sporadically ring. When the clock rings, housemates must freeze completely and become human statues. Big Brother will be sending a number of surprises into the House whilst the celebrities are frozen, which they must ignore, in order to win the task. Housemates are only allowed to move again when they hear the second clock toll.

But who will these “surprises” be? Without giving too much away, there’ll be two-legged guests, four-legged guests and maybe even a six-legged guest. But just you wait and see...
