Daily Mail writer Liz Jones has expressed surprise that she’s made it to the third week of Celebrity Big Brother 2014, revealing that her agent suggested that she should be quiet on the show.

So far, the 55-year-old has survived three evictions – much to the surprise of some viewers, who have criticised her for being one of the less entertaining housemates in the line-up.

But, having come out of her shell at the weekend with an impressive peformance in Luisa’s secret mission, Liz has hinted that it wasn’t all her idea to be more of a background character.

Yesterday, when Liz said that she thought she’d have been evicted sooner, the former Apprentice star told her: “In a weird way I hope that you win. That would be brilliant.”

“My agent said if don’t say anything, keep your head down you’ll be out in 4 days,” admitted Liz. “I only brought 3 pairs of knickers.”

“Nooo!” exclaimed a horrified Luisa.

“I keep having to wash them,” smiled Liz.

Day 20: Just the two of us

As a reward for getting off the fence and sharing their honest opinions on all things CBB, Sam and Ollie were treated to a luxury hamper for two in a private room. Ollie cracked open the champagne and promised to show Sam something amazing with a strawberry. "You're so sweet" she replied. Get a room, you two! Oh, hold on, you've already got one.

"You've left a bit of your macaroon on my chocolate ÃĐclair" Sam told him. "Is that a euphemism?" Ollie replied. Sadly, it wasn't, but you can't have everything. Ollie then let himself down by choosing a pink marshmallow purely because it matched his jumper, but other than that they got along famously.

Sam talked about the upcoming eviction, her first, and said she wanted Ollie to be sitting next to her on the sofa when the verdict was delivered. "Of course I’ll be there" he assured her. Bless.

Later, Ollie told Sam there were two Sams: the one who appears on TV in the glamorous clothes and make-up, and also the real Sam. "That’s the one I prefer" he purred. What a smoothie. That said, moments later they were talking about fish.

A brief chat about their favourite holiday destinations later, they were done. They went back into the House and life carried on as before. "She snogged me!" lied Ollie. Nobody even batted and eyelid, but you never know. There's life in this one yet.

Liz Jones favourite to leave Celebrity Big Brother house next

Jim Davidson and Sam Faiers can start choosing what they want their Celebrity Big Brother housemates to cook them for breakfast as Liz Jones is the favourite to go home next.

She might have won over viewers on Monday night with her bathtub antics but Liz is still falling short on votes compared to her rivals.

With odds of 2/7 at being evicted, it’s almost certain she’ll be answering Emma Willis’ questions in the hot seat tonight.

Sam Faiers is next in line to get the chop with odds of 11/4 while Jim Davidson has outside chances at 16/1.

Liz, Sam and Jim were put up for eviction by their fellow housemates on Sunday.

But Sam’s nomination was a shock to her fellow housemates who started accusing Jim – who, along with Liz, was the only one to nominate her – of voting tactically.

Despite his unpopularity inside the house, Jim is the bookies’ favourite to win the show.

With odds of 6/5 of walking away as the victor, William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: ‘Jim Davidson is now a terrible result and we are hoping that his temper gets the better of him before punters clean up.’

Big Brother Winner: 6/5 Jim Davidson, 3/1 Dappy, 4/1 Ollie Locke, 6/1 Sam Faiers, 14/1 Luisa Zissman, 25/1 Liz Jones, 40/1 Casey Batchelor, 40/1 Lee Ryan, 66/1 Linda Nolan

Day 20: HMs prep for the forthcoming fourth eviction

The arrival of an eviction night means housemates are compelled to ease and tweeze their locks, buff their shoes and button up their overcoats. They always look fantastic so let us appreciate their efforts.

Lookin' fine, housemates. The best of luck to our nominated threesome!

Liz has been evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother House!

She's done the practical work, now columnist Liz Jones can hurry home to her 17 cats and 4 dogs (and Lord knows how many horses) to get an article written up about her time in the Celebrity Big Brother House.

Animal-lover and outspoken scribe Liz entered the House cuffed to Dappy and with a fair amount of booing as a background but, during her decent, twenty day stint our journalist managed to turn the tide of opinion within and within the House to some extent. Things seemed to change after the Building Blocks of Celebrity task in which Lionel, Linda and Jim seized the opportunity to tackle Liz on the controversy she's caused and it was generally thought she defended herself rather well. She also held her own when debating vegetarianism with carnivore Jim, with Davidson later pronouncing that she's "totally mad but really lovely".

The audience may disagree on the mad part. Liz acquitted herself fabulously in the UFO task, putting up with electric shocks to the point our visitors became convinced she had a different kind of nervous system to the rest of humanity. She had a quiet few days recently, becoming a calming and gentle presence around the House. Really, her only loud moment was when she fell out of a sledge when her huskies tipped her in the Arctic. An understandable shriek came from her lips.

One moment which was an instant audience favourite came when Luisa was tasked with making Liz laugh. Our writer deflected the Zissman expertly, reeling off a list of life-complaints that was breathtaking in its grim scope.

After a three-way eviction battle between Miss Jones, Jim and Sam, Liz found herself bottom of the heap. She leaves with plenty of new friends, a bucketload of material and the certainty that she was a top notch housemate.

Cheerio, Liz! Be kind about us. Please?

10.32pm: Following Liz's exit, the HMs are listing their most embarrassing moments in the house. This series has been BONKERS

10.35pm: "I loved Liz.." @TheLuluLife and @SamanthaFaiers are particularly sad to see Liz go.

10.50pm: Ollie's in the garden with his feet up on the table. Terrible etiquette from the usually impeccably behaved Lockester
