Day 12: One big happy family

An essence of calm has finally descended over the Big Brother House. All seems to be forgiven between the feuding duo, Lionel and Luisa, who have spent the evening swapping stories about their school days - Luisa played the trumpet, don't you know? You do now...

Meanwhile, Jasmine has spent the evening gushing to Dappy about how 'special' Lee is.

"He's very misunderstood" she stressed.

"It's really rare for a man to show his emotions like that. It's a beautiful thing" Jasmine added.

Aww, isn't that lovely? Or vomit-inducing. Whichever camp you're in...

And even Jim and Linda have managed to avoid their nightly sparring match. We don't know what's going on. Everyone's being... nice? It's almost too much to comprehend.

Day 12 round-up: This is NOT a democracy

Day 12 was all about democracy, or the lack thereof.

The housemates had a very rude awakening, at 6am would you believe, to be asked the easiest question ever: do you want to go back to bed? Funnily enough, they did, and off they went.

Luisa and Lionel had started to go a little stir crazy in the aptly-named Most Annoying Room In The World, finding common ground but losing their marbles at the same time. Upon their release, they joined their fellow housemates to vote somebody into jail. They voted for Luisa, and this time she couldn’t escape.

Meanwhile, Ollie decided he was ready to be Dappy. "It’s the swag" he said, uncertainly. Well, Celebrity Big Brother is all about trying new experiences, but assuming an entirely new identity is taking things a bit far. It was mostly a success, although his attempt at Dappy’s accent went around the world in 80 seconds, veering wildly between Mancunian, Texan and several other far-flung places. It was certainly better than eating crusts found inside the toaster, as Ollie had done earlier.

Then, a bombshell. Big Brother informed the housemates that this democracy wasn’t quite as democratic as they'd thought. They were asked to vote for who they thought The Decider had been. Well, who would vote Linda most boring and then vote Lionel and Luisa into the Most Annoying Room? Jim, of course! The housemates voted unanimously and guessed correctly. Consequently, they failed the task, and that meant measly food rations rather than a luxury food budget.

Sam and Linda had already had a little grumble about Jim, and the failure of the task didn’t increase his popularity. That said, their complaints included him "trying to be friendly" and "trying to be funny", which seemed a little harsh.

And the bad news didn’t end there. Luisa’s antics in the Most Annoying Room earned them further punishment - the loss of beauty products, hot water and electrical appliances - and this was too much for Lionel. Famed for his cheeky smile and calm demeanour he may be, but this time he really blew his top. Lionel Blair? Lionel Blaaaaaargh, more like. But Lionel is nothing if not a professional, and later in the day he and Luisa found time to kiss and make up. Lovely.

Later, Ollie and Luisa auditioned for their own TV cooking show, which was every bit as delicious as it sounds. And that led the housemates into a nice, cordial evening. After the recriminations of the morning and the fireworks of the afternoon, the evening was full of love.

Will the happy family vibe last? What do you think?!

8.58am: Do we forgive the HMs for sleeping to 9am on a weekday? Beauty sleep is important before a , right?

9.13pm: Jasmine's asleep on her back with her arms folded across her chest. It's all a teensy bit Nosferatu

9.33pm: Is Dappy sucking his thumb as he sleeps? It looks like he may be

9.37am: The lights are up! Jim Davidson, as usual, is the first out of bed and on the hunt for caffeine

9.54am: Lionel is unimpressed by the elements. In a dressing gown, frowning, looking out of the window: "Oh, this WEATHER!"

Tonight on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side - Wednesday 15th January

We're a bit flipping excited about tonight's line up. Rylan's hosting – and we've only got X Factor stunner Shelley Smith on the panel. On top of being a singing sensation she's also pretty clued up when it comes to reality TV contestant behaviour, so we can't wait for her insight.

Another lady who knows all about that kind of thing is ex-HM and CBB royalty, the divine Lauren Harries. All we need to say on that front is that we've firmly established who it is that wants the cake and we can't wait for her to get stuck in.

The fun doesn't stop there because we've got another reality TV know-it-all, Joe Swash, along for the ride. As a former King of the Jungle, he'll be tonight's Tarzan, flanked by those two gorgeous Janes.

Day 13: Just how basic are basic rations?

Housemates may be on basic rations but don't worry – they're not going to go too hungry. In fact, all the major food groups are represented so we're not really sure what makes them so grumpy when they fail a task. Surely without the distraction of lovely grub they've more time to focus on the important things, like bickering and embarrassing themselves in front of the nation?

It can't be that they're usually so pampered and spoiled with lovely snacks and chocs that they've lost sight of the value range at their local supermarket, surely?

It couldn't possibly be that, could it?

So what is on the basic rations list and what do our housemates have to look forward to feasting on over the next few days? Is Big Brother's saver menu as bad as housemates make out?

Well, they'll not starve... but they're also unlikely to get fat, even if they pig out and scoff all of this lot:

Fruit & Veg

Oranges, apples, pears, lentils, chick peas, garlic, white onions, carrot, celery, chopped tomatoes, cabbage.

Cooking basics

Vegetable oil, olive oil, sugar, vegetable stock cubes, chicken stock cubes, chilli powder, brown rice, strong white bread flour, yeast, cumin, corainder, curry powder, nutmeg, paprika, salt, pepper

Beverages

Tea, coffee, filter coffee, soya milk

Special dietary requirements

Gluten free bread, gluten free stock

Chow down, housemates. You can even go back for seconds if you like.

Celebrity Big Brother: Channel 5 confirms later final date

By

Wednesday, Jan 15 2014, 12:04 GMT

Celebrity Big Brother will end four days later than originally planned, Channel 5 has confirmed.

While the series was initially expected to come to an end a week on Friday - January 24 - the broadcaster confirmed today that it will now crown its winner on Tuesday, January 28.

The move comes after the programme has performed well in the ratings for Channel 5, consistently pulling in around 2.4m viewers.

The show has caused its fair share of controversies, with evicted housemate Evander Holyfield and current contestant Dappy both being admonished for homophobic language and remarks.

Some viewers have also been shocked by the sexually charged nature of the house, with the love triangle between Lee Ryan, Casey Batchelor and Jasmine Waltz making waves among fans.

The next Celebrity Big Brother eviction will be held tonight at 9pm on Channel 5, with Waltz, Luisa Zissman, Jim Davidson and Liz Jones all facing the public vote.
