Celebrity Big Brother 2014: Six housemates face first eviction (and two are going!)

Posted January 5, 2014 17:15 by Josh Darvill

Six housemates face the first eviction from Celebrity Big Brother 2014 this week.

In last Friday night’s first live show twist, the twelve new housemates entered the house in pairs, handcuffed together.

A secret mission saw Linda Nolan and Jim Davidson decide to set free Dappy and Liz Jones, unknowingly putting the duo up for eviction in the process.

Over the weekend, two more pairs have been left up for the axe as the remaining housemates competed to win immunity from the first public vote.

On Saturday afternoon, housemates took part in their first task which saw them compete in a battle over their celebrity lives.

Jim and Linda won the challenge and were therefore saved from eviction, as well as being able to remove their handcuffs.

Later on in the evening, the remaining four tied up couples each took part in a quiz in the Diary Room which tested their knowledge of one another.

Sam Faiers and Jasmine Waltz won immunity for eviction and got themselves separated after answering the most questions correctly, leaving just three celebrity couples together.

Finally, today saw the final immunity task as the remaining handcuffed pairs were tied up in the garden and challenged to untangle themselves.

Ollie Locke and Lionel Blair freed themselves in the quickest time, therefore became the final two housemates immune from eviction.

As a result, Dappy and Liz Jones, Lee Ryan and Casey Batchelor, and Luisa Zissman and Evander Holyfield now all face eviction.

They face the public vote in their pairs, with viewers voting to save both housemates. The couple with the fewest votes will leave in Wednesday night’s latest live show on Channel 5 with Emma Willis.

Day 3: Six housemates face eviction

Is it that time already? Big Brother has spoken and we have our first batch of potential evictees.

Casey, Lee, Dappy, Liz, Evander and Luisa are the names in the frame but let's look back at how they got there.

Linda and Jim, the first cuffed couple through the doors of the CBB 2014 House, were tasked by BB to pick a pair to unchain. They chose Dappy and Liz without realising that they'd handed the duo a poisoned chalice. The rapper and the columnist became the inaugural nominees.

Two sets of housemates earned themselves immunity by performing well in tasks – Jim and Linda told the best stories during The Building Blocks of Celebrity task and housemates voted that they deserved a reprieve.  Sam and Jasmine scored highest during the In Your Head task, also potential eviction.

This left three couples to negotiate Day 3's Tangle task. Lionel and Ollie beat off the competition leaving Evander and Luisa and Casey and Lee facing the public vote.

Now it's over to you. Voting lines open after Monday's show.

Liz Jones reckons she’ll be the first out of Celebrity Big Brother 2014 this week.

The journalist faces the axe with Dappy as part of the weekend’s ‘handcuff’ twist.

Speaking in the Diary Room in tonight’s show, Liz says: “Housemates may be quite surprised that beneath my clam exterior there is conflict, doubt and sadness.

“The housemates all seem confident and happy in themselves. I’m not very extrovert; I prefer to ask people questions.

“I think Dappy wants to stay in and wants people to like him and love him, I feel sorry for him and he would probably take eviction to heart. I think it will be me and poor Dappy who will go first.”

Liz’s fellow housemates have also noticed her quietness.

Blue star Lee Ryan told Big Brother:  “Liz is finding it difficult in here, bless her. She is a very insecure nervous person; I hope she survives the eviction.

“I don’t want to see Dappy go; he brings so much warmth and love to the house.”

After the weekend’s tasks and twists, Dappy and Liz Jones, Lee Ryan and Casey Batchelor, and Luisa Zissman and Evander Holyfield now all face eviction.

They face the public vote in their pairs, with viewers voting to save both housemates together. The couple with the fewest votes will leave in Wednesday night’s latest live show on Channel 5 with Emma Willis.

The Celebrity Big Brother 2014 handcuffs launch twist has finished, with all housemates now free to live individually, bbspy can confirm.

A Channel 5 spokesperson has informed us this evening that the two remaining shackled pairs, Luisa and Evander and Lee and Casey, were unlocked from the restraints after being told that they will face Wednedsay’s eviction.

The foursome were put in the firing line alongside Dappy and Liz Jones after losing today’s task, which saw triumphant duo Ollie and Lionel win the final immunity prize.

This means that the twist lasted for just under 48 hours, with the pairs having been cuffed by security guards as they entered the house during the launch show on Friday night.

They were initially told that they’d be forced to live in close proximity 24 hours a day until further notice, including while sleeping.

However, it turned out that the handcuffs had an extendable cord enabling housemates to complete such as washing, going to the toilet and visiting the Diary Room on their own.

The nominees will still face the public vote in their pairs for the first eviction, which takes place this Wednesday night at 9.00pm on Channel 5.

Cracking Celebrity Big Brother: Advice from former housemates

We love it when former celebrity housemates come back to visit. When they do, they're always eager to impart advice on how to get through three weeks in the most intense televisual environment going. Having been through the highs and lows of the CBB experience, we tapped up three of our ex-HMs to grab some nuggets of advice from inside their minds.

If the current batch are lucky, we might even pass it on.

Neighbours superstar and all round good egg, Ryan Moloney (Toadfish) had this to say on what skills count in the CBB House:

"A great sense of humour and a willingness to give things a go. And not snoring like Razor would help!"

...not that Ryan's sense of humour was intact when he lost his letter from home. But we'll let him off – it was an emotional time.

Mega-model and outspoken ex-housemate Sophie Anderton passed on this advice:

"Don't take anything in the house too seriously. It's a confined environment, so take everything that happens and everything people say in your stride. It might be a reality show but it's not reality!"

If only she could have told herself that when she found herself sparring with Danielle Marr...

Then there's Mario Falcone. The TOWIE hero gave us this insight:

"My advice to the new housemates would be to mingle with everyone in the house and not go off in a small group. If your small group gets evicted you seclude yourself! Enjoy the experience and make the most if it. It's a one off!"

Even though Mario got a wee bit cliquey with Carol, Charlotte and Louie, he makes a good point (even if he didn't stick to it himself).

Thanks for the CBB acumen, ex-housemates! That kinda wisdom is worth its weight in gold...
