I loved him. Maverick the film is one of the funniest films I have seen, proper laugh out loud stuff. R.I.P. James.

Awww shame - loved him in the Rockford files when I was a kid 

Besides the Rockford Files I liked some of his films like Support Your Local Sheriff.

I loved The Maverick and so many other films of his

Rockford Files was part of my childhood too.

Not an actor who's career I have really followed, but I do remember being a fairly regular viewer of The Rockford Files but I also remember him in The Great Escape and Space Cowboys (along with a good cast of oldies including Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland and Tommy Lee Jones).

One of the best bits of information is his marriage, it would appear he married and stayed married to his wife Lois Clark 1956-2014, now you don't often see that in Hollywood, good on them.

Another sad loss. 

 One of my favourite actors.

I loved him in The Rockford Files, and in one of my favourite films, Murphy's Romance.

RIP James.
