And I thought it was really good, I hope it makes no 1, someone should put Simon Cowell in his place, he can't have everything, plus Xfactor and all the trash that comes along with it should end now.

Quasi correct my friend. Unfortunately the reason people are downloading this MP3 (I still have the original on CD :smug: ) is to prevent another X Factor disaster style Number one. It's mint imperial. They won't play this excellent track whether or not it's Number 1 or Number 31. They will continue with the Leona, Alexander, Sand-dancer Joe, Beyonce, Rhianna carp which I believe to be the same song.
Wogan was particularly dire this morning.

Radio 1 have played it a couple of times. Greg James between 1 and 4 has definitely.
The most interesting aspect in all of this is that the proceeds from both songs will all end up at Sony BMG, as RATM are on Epic Records, which is owned by Sony, as is SyCo...
If anything, the campaign puts more money into the company than they would have got without it...

But the performer's royalties will go to RATM, rather than that insipid Joe McElderly Reference:

Then that's even better!

This explains it better.
No surprise that Sky are having another pop at the BBC. Maybe Sky should spend a bit of time preparing programmes that people want to watch.

Out of interest, why is it this song that's been decided?
I'll be pleased if it does actually get number one though!

It's all just a ploy to get more people buying both singles. Any publicity is good publicity. Well I won't be buying either of them, even though I think Little Joe is adorable.
I've heard it on Radio 1...
& I've downloaded it. The boy & I were in fits laughing when we played it in the car... especially the mantra towards the end!
TBH I didn't care what song it was... so long as it wasn't a manufactured piece of talentless garbage with a total of ten words used for the lyrics and 4 notes for the melody... with some very very poor quality rapping thrown in... innit!
Mind you ... is the reason I don't watch x factor... not my taste in music at all.

I really like this tune, it was used in GTA San Andreas I so want it to make number one over Joe now.
I heard Simon Cowell's rant and have to say it was one of the most nauseating rants he's ever vomited up - so obviously there's some tough competition there. Cowell claimed those buying the RATM record were denying honest kids [not his exact words] their big life chance at a big number one. Would this be the same Simon Cowell who'll drop said honest kids like a sack of stinking **** as soon as they stop making him ÂĢÂĢÂĢÂĢÂĢÂĢÂĢÂĢÂĢÂĢs?
I've just heard RATM and I think it's crap If it gets to no 1 it'll be the Cowell haters who put it there cause it's rotten

so glad we agree
It looks like the gap is closing, there were distribution issues for "The Climb" by Joe and he is now the bookies favourite for Christmas number one. http://www.guardian.co.uk/musi...achine-joe-mcelderry

not so rotten
Does anyone actually reckon it'll do it?
Wouldn't surprise me if Simon Cowell was buying in loads of cd's of Joe's just to make sure his Protege is No1. It's all about the fame and fortune with him

my concern is for Joe - he entered the show along with all the other hopefuls - the prize is a number 1 virtually guaranteed - the campaign against the simon cowell machine is fine if it hits him - this might hit Joe
I'm not that keen on RATM tbh, but I'd rather they got the number one slot than another insipid Cowell track. Personally I'd like to see something a little more festive get it. Or the new Muppet single, which is brilliant.

I hope it does hit him.... It's been about him and his acts for the past few years The other folk with good music in the charts don't stand a chance Just look how far Jedward got this year Pathetic pair IMO--- should never have been on there-- but King Simon made the most of the publicity they brought to the show....

do u think it will hit him? or Joe?Joe is a great singer-- He will make it as a singer and sell records, but Cowell ,the record company and others will have him contracted to the eyeballs for years to come-- so what we hear he is earning, will be no where near the amount he gets in RL...... All the TV made folk are the same... Working their asses off for years and paying the recording companies and Cowell.Inc their share... If they manage to crack it in the US-- then they may make a Million--- but those are few and far between....
And don't forget Simon Cowell actually copied the X-Factor idea or format from Simon Fuller's Pop Idol and he had to pay out lots of cash to secure the rights.

yo, that is how it is - and that's why I want Joe in no.1 spot for xmas - he'll get a decent cut from that
This is the first year that I've bought a song that could even be considered for No1 at Christmas and whoever gets it, at least it's been FUN this year
