From clinical services director at the hospital. I only sent them a pithy little email suggesting a whip-round to get my surgeon a bucket of grit...

Don't mess with the Toid!
She was sooooo apologetic, I kind of felt sorry for her.
But as I explained, it's not just me, it's all the other patients who got messed about, and an operating theatre that didn't get used today. And wouldn't it have been cheaper all round to send a 4x4 taxi to get him to work?
She said that was something they were already looking at, if it ever happened again..

But he probably has shopping to do!
I didn't suggest anything dubious about his no-show in my email - just that I was now in work with people who'd managed to get in from much further away.

The new date is (allegedly) January 18.

Have they given you any idea when your op will be rescheduled, Deman?
More importantly, does this mean you will have to do the washing up on Christmas Day?
Edit: just noticed your new date up there. ^^^^^^

Toid I take my hat off to you, I don't think I'd have had the nerve to have said all that no matter how angry I was, but it's time these men in white coats were brought back down to earth I hope that lady passes on all your comments because he really needs to take stock of his behaviour
Cheers, Pengy
When I spoke to her, I suggested sending a 4x4 taxi to pick him up and ferry him in would have been cheaper than wasting a day's operating theatre time and you know what she said? "Yes, we've thought that too, and we'll be looking into doing that if it happens again."
Wa-hey!

That's an excellent point and I really hope he's made to understand the amount of public money he has wasted because he couldn't get his car out of the drive they'd soon come down on you like a tonne of bricks if you forgot to attend your appointment or cancelled at the last minute!

I pointed that out, too! They would have got properly shirty with me if I'd given THEM so little notice!
Good for you Deman!
