I know it's a bad situation but the way the state of the country is and job losses all round at least it's not as bad knowing I'm not alone in this situation. I'm sure I'll get something, it won't pay the money I'm on now, but a job is a job.

Know how you feel, even though mine was voluntary. It was still scary entering the job market after many years with the same company.

Make sure your current employer allows you time off for interviews etc. As you are under notice of redundancy you have certain rights, make sure you know your rights and the company respects them.

Sorry Poolshark I've been through it myself not so long ago. You'll be fine, at least you got a month's notice. Good luck.

My boss is doing me a good reference and said I can have as much time off for interviews as I need, plus 8 days holiday pay on top of my final months pay.

So sorry pool.Know how u feel cos i lost my job in feb n so far ive had 5 letters saying i didnt get the jobs i sent cv too n all the rest havent even botherd to reply.

I'm a Business Development Manager for a commercial refurbishment company, it's not like we are even short of enquiries for quotes, we have quotes coming out of our ears, just no one wants to give us the go ahead onn work we have won. Anything sales related I would take, I can't do amything else aprt from factory work and I'd even go back to that if I have to, I don't mean that in a snobby way, I started life working from the shop floor up to office work, but this is a really good company to work for.

Bummer. At least there are sales jobs all over the place, I suppose. When I'm made redundant, it's hell to get another job of the same type locally.
