They're really noisy feckers in parts of London, I tell you! So they nest in a decrepit pear tree that's dying fast in the garden at the bottom of mine and when they're gathering to sleep it's bonkers! There must be a flock of about 20 in that tree!

No parrots in Glasgow,however we do have the lesser black backed seagulls! They can gather on the roofs and start their squalling at 6.00 in the morning,then there are the magpies with their machine gun calls.however I love birds,even the noisy ones.

Was in hospital yesterday katty for a minor op , seagulls up Gartnavel way are mental! I woke up convinced I was at the seaside

But I get the bloody seagulls too, even as far from the sea as I am in West London! They've apparently learnt to attack black bin bags to scavenge! 
I wonder what feathered carnage will occur when the two species attack!

There are many urban myths but the one I've heard most often and is plausible is that they escaped during the making of some scenes of 'The African Queen' (1951) starring Bogart and Hepburn in Isleworth, Middx.

The winter we've just had in London has proved they are very resilient Stonks. They're numbers are not in a bit diminished!
