put a spare quilt under your bottom sheet - amazing what a difference it makes on cold winter nights - an envelope of warmth from the two top and bottom

 

I always have a larger size duvet to the bed size too - a good overlay so no cold gaps

 

I hate being cold and you do feel it more as you get older 

And its Christmas red!  The reindeer onesie is fine but what if you need a wee in the middle of the night, I always do, and I wouldn't fancy struggling out of that, I would be proper awake.

Wooooooaaaaahhhhh a reindeer suit!!!!! I want one! Where can I buy one?! Thank you everyone for your great recommendations I should have taken my wheatbag to bed last night but forgot, until after I had put the doggy to bed in the kitchen. I didn't want to disturb her because she's in heat and feeling rough bless her. Now, where can I find these microwaveable socks?

These are the microwaveable slippers I got from Amazon. Theres a grainy filling in the soles which retains the heat. I love mine, I scrunch my toes and it feels like hot sand beneath my feet. I close my eyes and pretend I'm walking along a beach. Great fun on a winter's night

Just had a look, there are microwaveable slipper boots too, which from the reviews seem to stay warmer much longer then the ones I have  I think I'll get them. I HATE cold toes.

Thank you Rosie and for the links too, I'm happy if I have hot heat and kick my socks off but that doesn't happen a lot..

I just now dug my micro-slippies out and used them for the first time since Spring. Nice and warm tootsies - but the heat only lasts about 10 mins. I shall definitely need those boot ones

Sweet I once had friends with a black labrador called Bramble. She got really fat even on a diet. They worked out the nursing home up the road was giving her scraps. So she got barred from the place. She was the loveliest dopiest dog  and was always getting up on the sofa the minute their back was turned. When you called your pup Bramble it reminded me of her!

Oh those naughty people! You never know what a dog might be allergic to, they should not have fed her! I guess they were looking for affection Lovely name your friends chose mr summer came up with 3 and I liked Bramble the best out of them, we chose it a year before we actually got her. I do like Labradors too, I think they're lovely
