Oh God everything from Massive Attack to The Ting Tings, Black Eyed Peas. I've a good mix I hope. The inevitable 80's collection as those were my days. Few 90's for the raver in me. I'll have to try and cater for all as you say. I hope I'm not too self indulgent. Ah what the heck...It is my berfday

Who? What? Looks blankly at screen.

Spotify is almost the best thing since sliced bread...it's a free music streaming service, no buffering, ace sound quality. Think of it a bit like an online jukebox...you type in the name of an artists/song/album/record label/year or genre...you can create play-lists by theme...or wherever your imagination takes you.

Now it's hitting it's stride new releases are getting added straight away (MSP, Green Day and Kasabian's new releases were added immediately)

It has a vast library with old stuff, new stuff and even suggest stuff to you based on your tastes. It's dead easy to use and FREE (with the occasional ad) 99p for an ad-free day pass (you can subscribe for an ad free thing yearly)

It's not perfect (for example out of 12 Lemonheads albums it only has about 5 of them) but more are getting added all the time...

I know it sounds like I must work for them..but I proper love it Laugh (it's all Zaphod's fault, he told me about it)

No Beatles, Dylan, Metallica...but who cares? Big Grin

What do you get for 99p?

24 hours ad free.

The free service (it's all legal, I forgot to say that in my other post) has the occasional advert...they only last about 30 seconds though.

I haven't a clue how to burn to disc from my Itunes Disappointed

Can it be done ? .... and how ?

I'm burning a load of my cds onto the pc using itunes, storing them onto the ipod and then hopefully managing to pick a good selection to make a playlist to last a couple of hours, well 5hrs maybe. Plug into stereo and away I go. If you download itunes and open it, then when you put a cd into the computer it will automatically ask you if you want to copy it and then it will store in your music library for you then to put onto ipod.

Sounds like Limewire or bearshare. I wouldn't like to open myself up to viruses. And anyway if they only have 5/12 lemonheads then I'm afraid i'll have nothing to do with them. Tsk Roll Eyes What is the world coming to.

Ah, streaming only. Gotcha.

I bought the new Arctic Monkeys album: Humbug today.

Been reading the reviews of that, sounds like quite a departure.

I'm looking forward to having a listen.

I played it on the drive home. It's a bit darker. Small traces of Muse in there at times. I need to listen on my iPod I think.

Oh well that sounds good. I'll check it out. ipod syncing at the moment. I actually am feeling nervous cos anytime I've done crap like this before it has always gone tits up at the last moment. Crosses fingers. I'll have a look at spotify while it's syncing.

so can you somehow save songs from the streaming?

No, you can't save them to your PC...but Spotify is a programme that is on your PC, so you can listen any time you are connected to the internet (ie you don't have to go to a site...you just click the Spotify icon on your desktop) They are working on an ap for iPhones as far as I know.
