Where IS Moomin?

MOOMIN... let us know you are ok...  even if, *gulps* you are going down that hell known as Clearing again..

It worked out ok last time didn't it?    It'll work out ok this time too.

(FWIW... Ickle didn't get her offer either... well, not unless a miracle has happened with the 2 results we have yet to manage to get hold of... but that is extremely unlikely)..

We can still drink Moomin..   in fact..   we should be drinking more!

Am just gonna c&p this that I posted in the ship...   cos am flying out the door with Ickle...

OK.... quick update from me...

I have extremely distraught Ickle here...    although, we have already worked out that, its not all bad...  and in the long term, may work out for the best...

She got A in Chem & B in Physics...  so didn't get any of her offers.    She's not going through clearing, in fact she is going to contact her old school to see if she can attend there next year & do resits with them, to get the grades up...

not only will this keep her occupied this year, (& she will still get some EMA this year)...  but it has the advantage of getting her into a social group of friends locally...   and, all in all... a good position to be in study wise.

She's still in tears though.   BLOODY GLANDULAR FEVER!!!

Sometimes things happen for a reason - my friends daughter was in a similar position - she re sat the following year but managed to get in some voluntary work teaching in India - when she eventually started Uni she was more relaxed, mature and had gotten some very valuable life experiences.

I'm sure things will go well for her - it's hard when your heart is set on something though.

YEP to that, as my Mum used to say, these things happen for a reason  AND whatever you do, don't forget, two As and a B, not what she hoped for, but still bliddy good results

Too right! Amazing results, good for her.  Lots of good times ahead for them all. Just for them to keep looking ahead xx

Echoes all the above

They are brilliant grades and will look fabulous on your CV, Ickle. You have overcome such a lot to achieve them and, though they might not have been the grades that you wanted you should be well pleased with yourself.

Now - dry those tears, get on the phone and organise this evening's celebrations, and tomorrow, when the hangover wears off, you can begin to think about Plan B

Well..    she'll be celebrating in with me Rexi..   disadvantage to having gone to a boarding school 90 miles away.     BUT... advantage to repeating Year 13 locally is she should build up a social circle of friends locally again!

I've taken so long to come back to you cos I wanted something in black and white before I made it public. My son got 3 Bs - he needed an A and 2 Bs. Anyway, we just could not get on the UCAS site all morning - it crashed, they turned it off it crashed again, he just wasn't able to log in. School had told him he had got in to his insurance choice, but until I saw it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe it, which is why it took so long to come on here and tell you. Oh and I've also been out with him, his friend and his friend's mum to celebrate at lunchtime!!

So No 2 son is off to Hull!! He really wanted to go to his 1st choice (;ancaster), but he thought, and I've convinced him that he has made the right decision to go to Hull rather than wait a year to see if he might get into Lanacaster then (which would by no means be a given).

Well done everyone, and Ditty - I'm sure Ickle has made the right decision too!!

Moomin

Awwwww Moomin that's SO exciting! Hahaha! I can't believe our boys are off to the same place. When we got home from school a couple of hours ago, he had a pack of info from Hull.....all about the student union and up and coming events etc. It's made him SO excited

And Hull's a fab place! (I lived there from the age of 3 to 12)

AND.... I dunno about you, but I get to drive over the Humber Bridge to ferry him to and fro! I love that bridge
