Hi Aquarius Gaga was set up to make sure we all stayed together, but this place was running long before that, and I think this was only offered as an alternative option when Gaga closed (well, we automatically got dragged over here). Dont think there was ever the intention that parts of it were set up specifically for us refugees. I like it here though report ยท permalink

I agree Karma....just wasn't expressing myself too well.  I'm usually that way of a morning.  What I meant to say was that it was sad that the primary reason for all moving here was to maintain the community spirit we had on BBGF.....soon after we get here that community spirit reasoning seems to be lost in the clouds.  That's forum life for ya.

you have some great blogs suzi, i never know what to write on my blog. need to look at my settings then.
Thank you.  It's mostly just ramblings and some strange ideas.  I have been very remiss in writing blogs lately.

Some days I just don't feel like getting involved on the forum or posting, though I do tend to read every day.  Others may feel like that too, so a blog is a great way to just ramble on to yourself.

That's very poetic Acquarius....but perhaps the gaga/bb community was dwindling anyhow.  There were lots from C4 that didn't come over and then there were others who never felt it was the same

I think I must be the only one to actually prefer here to gaga   I love the sense of community.  If people want to talk about themselves, they can do a blog and people can come and comment on them, thereby doing away with the whole 'I can't believe you started a thread on this' milarkey and otherwise if you want to do a thread in the forum you can be a daredevil and do that too

The community only becomes closed off if you don't get out there and explore

I agree with Temps!  I like it as I become more familar with the layout.  A few tweaks and it will be fine.

I like belonging to the groups - like Rockin Recipes - if there is something I want to contribute then all I have to do is find it in my groups thingie instead of trolling through pages and pages of forum threads and then getting attacked for dragging up an old thread.

Hi Temps.  I'm a poet and I didn't know it!   It could well be that those of us who are computer dumbos (yup me) are less likely to explore.  I've donned my kevlar vest and ventured out quite a few times but as yet not found anywhere I like more than the forum.  I'll keep trying though.

dear lord it's Keith Chegwin

I haven't had time to really delve into the groupee thing, or the groups for recipes and stuff, but I am excited about the possibility that there is so much to this place that I'll discover in time.  However, if I see a blog on the side there ---->  and it's something I'm interested in I'll reply to it.  By doing that I've met some lovely people on here and likewise they come and comment on my blog and hey presto you get to talk to some interesting peeps.

I haven't had time to discover all there is here either.  But most of the regular forumers gravitate back to the forum also.  The first few times you stick your head out though you think you're intruding on people's blogs, but if they didn't want you reading it, they would have set it to private....and then blacklisted you...and sent you an email about it   *ducks*

That's very true! No one should worry about it.... just treat them like threads. Everyones welcome.

When I first came here the only people blogging were the old groupees...... I did wonder whether it was correct blogging etiquette to just barge in and comment but they assured me it was and I was made to feel very welcome. Take the plunge Aquarius... you won't regret it!

This thread has probably moved on now... but...

Yep, I agree Temps.  thats how I feel about this place.   I love the freedom of it all, and that via blogs you can be self indulgent without worry... if you know what I mean.

I won't say I prefer it here but I do like it.  At times (and I have said before) GaGa & C4 were scary places.
I came here to get to know the place a bit before we moved over and I found the 'Community Spirit' tremendous and it is still this way.  I'm not so afraid to post in other threads now because it's much more friendly and helpful than our other homes ever were.
Tayto.
Once upon a time on a fresh October day a VIP set up a group, only then was it found out that a bug had shown itself and this bug sent e-mails/Alerts to all on the VIPs blacklist. Some were not pleased by this and then another VIP2 set up a group, again the bug couldn't resist sending alerts to all on VIP2 blacklists.

So members wondered what this group was they had been banned from as most had never heard of Joe Bloggs (or whatever it was called) before.
So the Modettes were made aware of this bug and they fixed it. So now you'll never know who's black list you're on.

Oh and Temps baby had his first solid meal of Baby rice, 1 part rice 10 part baby milk, he had a poo after, which was runny but thats normal because he's teething as well.
All is well in the clouds. It has been very amusing.

The end.
