Aimee - won't your house insurance cover the frozen food damage?

I know mine does.

I don't know your circs Aimee but I would urge you ( if you can) to look into Home insurance. I pay £28 a month and that covers home, contents and buildings.

But you can get it cheaper than that xxx

Yes, you can get basic insurance for contents up to about £5,000 for as little as £7.50 a month with some companies..  And for £15,00 a month, as much as £20,000 worth of cover... Agree with Eileen Aims.... it's a good idea to get home contents insurance... It surprises me to hear you havent got it.... as most landlords (private and social,) don't allow you to sign the tenancy agreement unless you have home contents insurance...  and it tends to be a condition of your mortgage to have insurance if youre buying your house.
