Despite some of the BBC One news reports, the gritters were out all night and they kept the major roads open in Sheffield. Certainly the one I live near has been clear all night, however the side roads (as you would expect) are not gritted.

Sorry Pengy, the snow is not good enough for me to make a 'snow penguin'.

BBC seem to be picking up on the worst stories.

We have bright sunshine here in Sheffield this morning, a lovely day for my walk and coffee in 45 mins

 Thanks.

It all turned hard too quickly. The local kids managed to make a snowman, but I did not think they would manage it!

love Olaf the snowman but hate Frozen

great snowman and you lucky devil having that much snow

I've not seen Frozen as yet, but that song is so annoying now I would be likely to kick my tellybox into the middle of next week!

Been out for a walk and it's cold, bright sunshine and very, very hard under foot.

"Weather update in your area" thread is perfectly capable of accommodating this info.

Don't let me have to say this again

Merry Xmas to one and all (even those who came here instead of you know where)

NO, I will post where I want, season greetings
