It Gets Better is an online video channel founded by Dan Savage  in September 2010, in response to the suicide of Billy Lucas  and a number of other teenagers who were bullied because they were gay or because their peers suspected that they were gay.  Its goal is to prevent suicide among LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) youth  by having gay adults convey the message that these teens' lives will improve.

This is a video made by employees of Pixar Animation Studios.

It's quite wonderful that we live in a place and at a time where people feel free to express who and what they are. It's within my living memory when people could be imprisoned for daring to 'be' themselves.

Unfortunately and very sadly it isn't the same the world over. I really hope this helps people who have doubts and are troubled about there own identity!

Dan Savage is a 46 year old author, pundit, journalist and newspaper editor.
He is based in Seattle.
In light of the suicide of 15 year old Billy Lucas, who was bullied for his perceived sexual orientation, Savage started the It Gets Better project. The project encourages adults, both LGBT and otherwise, to submit videos assuring gay teenagers that life can improve after bullying in early life.

The campaign is a great idea, and I sincerely hope that it will help many who are feeling desperately overwhelmed by their sexual orientation.
When at one's lowest ebb, it is not always easy to be convinced by "It gets better".
But this is all first hand, and from personal experience.
In the light of recent suicides and stories of bullying it is wonderfully positive to find this kind of approach to such a difficult emotional problem.
