I love it when I read my first book by someone who is obviously going to be great fun to read. Just reading "The Cat Who Came In From The Cold" by Deric Longden and it is really funny. Can't wait to read some of his others as well. He does public speaking too, anyone been to hear him?

I used to read a lot of "The Cat Who . . ." books years ago but I don't think it's the same author.
Not heard of him squiggle. I love finding new authors. I love reading and go through loads of books.

Certainly worth having a look on eBay or Amazon for him. You can pick one up quite cheaply and I think he would appeal to most people. He has a comical way of writing that really lets you 'see' the situation. Like you I love reading and I like to read all sorts, sometimes a thriller sometimes something light hearted, occasionally Terry Pratchett, depends on my mood. I cannot imagine life without books.
He wrote a book called Lost for Words about his mother and it was turned in a tv drama, I think the parts were played by Pete Postlewaite and Thora Herd
There is an American detective series of books, where the two siamese cats usually solve the case, I can't remember the authors name, but the heros name is Jim Quillerian and one of the cats are called Yum Yum, it has been a while since I have read one, but they are a good read if you love cats and detective stories.
Also another good cat book is called "Talk to the paw" about a male cat lover and the cats he has had in his life. Muy husband brought me that book for my birthday and I read it in one afternoon.

Oh I saw that, made me sob! I was thinking of my own mum and Pete Postlethwaite and Thora Hurd were both brilliant. Didn't realise it was written by him.

I loved those books with Qwill! I looked it up - they were written by Lillian Jackson Braun.
